North Korea to Obama: Start packing

I wonder how many electoral votes that Pew research said that Hillary would win the presidency by. The charts and graphs look very pretty though.

Sorry, kiddo. Pew Research is pretty non-partisan. You can even check out some of their election topics that focus on both sides and just the core numbers. They never projected a winner during the last election. Instead, they focused on an array of smaller surveys that focus on different aspects of the election to gather data.

Note: Yes, I worked at Pew as a Research Associate for a few years during 2010-2012. Pew and Brookings are both research institutes that focus on raw numbers as much as possible. I left Brookings for ... reasons, similar to what you just accused Pew of doing.

Polls can easily be skewed one way or the other depending on the questions asked and the people participating. I admit Pew is one of the few polls that I have a bit of faith in, but not much.

Polls are polls. I guess I should have explained that the graphs aren't going to be easily skewed based on the associate's personal opinion, but polls are always going to be polls. Pew tries to be as straight-forward as possible (in my experience). But even in this election, they admitted that they didn't focus on their usual large poll strategy as the last election. Some of my former colleagues that still work there told me it was mostly due to how inaccurate large polls can be during election time. Opinions change from week one until the moment the voter goes into the voting booth.

I'm not saying that Pew is going to be faultless. As you said, polls can sometimes mean multiple things depending on the questions asked. Most think tanks in the DC Metro area know that they need to be careful in phrasing. Alas, they also tend to have research analysts that field test questions to see how a small demographic respond to phrasing as well. Polls aren't "definitive", no matter the context. It just strives to illustrate a general consensus of those who were asked. I wouldn't use them in the "This poll means that everyone in these countries love Obama". I'd say that in the linked graphs it would mean more so "We seemed to experience less resistance or voiced objections to his policies in these countries". What many polls don't really show you (via graph maps) is how many simply didn't have an opinion at all (which is usually more telling of the country than those who do have an opinion, including the US).

I can assure you North Korea isn't alone in it's apathy of Obama during his final days.

You're quoting an article from 2015? LOL. That's ancient history in the world of politics. I'm referring more to Israel refusing to deal with Obama, deferring to Trump instead.

And yet according to Pew, Gallup, and the BBC/Globescan the world opinion overall is higher now then it was 8 years ago. Stop appealing to the president being some sort of despicable global tyrant amongst global opinions because it is verifiably false. Why do you boys and girls need to white wash everything the President does as being some monochrome generalization?

That's right ladies and gentlemen, that's what the world thinks of America. We live in a meme world now. Obama can take his legacy and go fuck himself with it. Let the adults take it from here.

I'm not sure why they think Obama leaving is an "insult" to him--Do they seriously NOT KNOW we change presidents every eight years under our democratic system, and that Trump somehow "burned" and "defeated" him, and that's why Obama is leaving in "disgrace"?
(Which, to be honest, might be the actual misapprehension for the last sixty years in a country where leaders tend to rule for life, unless they screw up badly and are forced out in violent shakeup party coups.)
That's like watching a bus pull away from a station, and shouting after it, "Yeah, you better run!"

As for thinking the Enemy of their Enemy is their Friend, they're in for a rude awakening there also, as Trump is one of the few people dopey and naive enough to still think that NK is our #1 WW3 threat.
Actually, whatever we fear about them is because they're just as dopey, naive, thin-skinned, and laughably inexperienced at 21st-cty. world politics, too.

I don't like North Korea, I think Kim John Un is a world-class moron, enough that he belongs ... in America - but I still take pleasure hearing this burn because Obama is a piece of shit and every day that goes by sees him disgraced more and more on the world stage and in his own people's eyes. So, who is acting more childish right now? Kim Jong Un, or President Obama? I'll let you guys decide, doesn't make a bit of difference, I have no respect for either version of oppressive liar.

If by that you are also saying that Trump is not a meme then you have clearly not seen how to world reacted to the latest election. Also, the world has blacked listed North Korea a long long time ago.

Oh my fucking god, who fucking cares? When people say Obama is the antichrist or Trump is Hitler, it is an exaggeration. If someone called the Kim Family Nazis, it is a fucking understatement. Really MysticGon? Really? Obama might be a feckless president catering to corrupt groups, but the Kims are literally genocidal dictators. Fuck this shit. It is like if Hitler or Idi Amin criticized Michael Vick for dog fighting. They are not ones to talk, they literally ceded that right for the brutality of their reigns. Fucking fuck fuck fuck. Why make this fucking thread?
