Monkey & Bear - Joanna Newsom
"Down in the green hay
where Monkey and Bear usually lay
they woke from a stable-boy's cry.
He said, "Someone come quick!
The horses got loose, got grass-sick!
They'll founder! Fain, they'll die!"
What is now known by the sorrel and the roan?
By the chestnut, and the bay, and the gelding grey?
It is: stay by the gate you are given,
and remain in your place, for your season,
and had the overfed dead but listened
to that high-fence, horse-sense, wisdom...
"Did you hear that, Bear?" said Monkey,
"We'll get out of here, fair and square;
they've left the gate open wide!"
"So,
my bride,
here is my hand, where is your paw?
Try and understand my plan, Ursala:
My heart is a furnace
full of love that's just, and earnest.
Now you know that we must unlearn this
allegiance to a life of service,
and no longer answer to that heartless
hay-monger, nor be his accomplice
(that charlatan, with artless hustling!),
but Ursala, we've got to eat something,
and earn our keep, while still within
the borders of the land that man has girded
(all double-bolted and tight-fisted!),
until we reach the open country
a-steeped in milk and honey."
"Will you keep your fancy clothes on, for me?
Can you bear a little longer to wear that leash?
My love, I swear by the air I breathe:
Sooner or later, you'll bare your teeth."
"But for now, just dance, darling.
C'mon, will you dance, my darling?
Darling, there's a place for us,
can we go before I turn to dust?
Oh my darling, there's a place for us.
Oh darling
c'mon will you dance, my darling?
Oh, the hills are groaning with excess
like a table ceaselessly being set;
oh my darling, we will get there yet."
They trooped past the guards;
past the coops, and the fields, and the farmyards
all night, till finally:
The space they gained grew
much farther than the stone that bear threw
to mark where they'd stop for tea.
But walk a little faster,
and don't look backwards;
your feast is to the East, which lies a little past the pasture.
When the blackbirds hear tea whistling, they rise and clap
and their applause caws the kettle black,
and we can't have none of that!
Move along, Bear; there, there; that’s that.
Though cast in plaster
our Ursala's heart beat faster
than Monkey's ever will.
But still;
they have got to pay the bills...
Hadn't they?
That is what the monkey'd say.
So, with the courage of a clown, or a cur,
or a kite, jerking tight at its tether;
in her dun-brown gown of fur
and her jerkin' of swansdown and leather
Bear would sway on her hind legs.
The organ would grind dregs of song, for the pleasure
of the children, who'd shriek,
throwing coins at her feet,
then recoiling in terror.
Sing, dance, darling.
C'mon, will you dance, my darling?
Oh darling, there's a place for us,
can we go, before I turn to dust?
Oh my darling, there’s a place for us.
Oh darling,
c'mon, will you dance, my darling?
You keep your eyes fixed on the highest hill
where you'll ever-after eat your fill',
oh my darling, dear, mine,
if you dance.
Dance, darling, and I love you still.
Deep in the night
shone a weak and miserly light
where the monkey shouldered his lamp.
Someone had told him
the bear had been wandering
a fair piece away from where they were camped,
someone had told him
the bear'd been sneaking away
to the seaside caverns, to bathe,
and the thought troubled the monkey
for he was afraid of spelunking down in those caves,
also afraid what the village people would say
if they saw the bear in that state;
lolling and splashing obscenely.
Well, it seemed irrational, really; washing that face,
washing that matted and flea-bit pelt
in some sea-spit-shine, old kelp dripping with brine.
But monkey just laughed, and he muttered;
When she comes back, Ursala will be bursting with pride,
Till I jump up
saying, "You've been rolling in muck!",
saying, "You smell of garbage and grime!"
But far out,
far out,
by now,
by now,
far out, by now, Bear ploughed
'cause she would not drown.
First the outside-legs of the bear
up and fell down, in the water, like knobby garters,
then the outside-arms of the bear
fell off, as easy as if sloughed from boiled tomatoes
low'red in a genteel curtsy
Bear shed the mantle of her diluvian shoulders;
and, with a sigh,
she allowed the burden of belly to drop like an apron full of boulders.
If you could hold up her threadbare
coat to the light where it's worn translucent in places
you'd see spots where
almost every night of the year Bear had been mending suspending that baseness.
Now her coat drags through the water
bagging, with a life's-worth of hunger, limitless minnows;
in the magnetic embrace
balletic and glacial of Bear's insatiable shadow;
Left there!
Left there!
When Bear left Bear.
Left there!
Left there!
When Bear stepped clear of Bear.
Sooner or later you'll bury your teeth."
Edit: Wow, that's long!... I guess I should have assumed it would have been, the song is almost ten minutes. Congratulations if you actually read all of that.

She's got a Smile-Stephen Lynch
She gotta smile,
Yeah, She gotta smile and
she's flashin' it right at me
She gotta wink, a wink across
the bar and I know that it's meant to be.
She gotta walk, Oooh she walkin' over
and i know this could be my day.
She got a ... friend,
Eeeew she gotta friend;
Why's she standin' in her way?!?
It's her big fat friend!
Oh god there's always one
Big fat friend
To ruin my F---ing fun!
Well baby baby baby
if it's boots you wanna knock,
Leave your chubbly friend at home
because she's gonna block the cock.
Now I'm afraid of no man,
With any I'll contend,
But I cannot compete with your
Big Fat Friend.
(Well Big fat friend, Ah, we meet again!)
She won't leave her alone,
She rolls her eyes; makes sarcastic
coments while she's suckin' on that
chicken bone.
Well, you may think you've won the
battle but i tend to dis-agree.
See I know you, and your Achelies Heel,
And he's standing next to me.
My non-discriminating friend
(So what that you're a cow!)
Non-discriminating friend!
(I'll nail you anyhow!)
Now I know that he's no looker
and he's had a couple rounds,
But with every shot of Jager
hey you loose a couple pounds!
Now baby baby baby bring the
evening to an end,
Just you and me and my pal,
and your big fat friend.

The Residents - Godsong (i changed my avatar just for this post)
God never really did like man anyway
At least not after they started walking around
On their hind legs
And talking on the telephone
Of course poor God's point of view wasn't easy now (to) understand
He had invented man from dead things
At that time there were no grave yards to rob
So He had been forced to use dead worms, some sea weed
That had laid out on the beach for quite a while
For quite a while.
At that time man had four legs and no telephone
A major mistake came when God decided that man should think
(A trait that He'd long desired for Himself)
What God no doubt intended was
For man to think about Him
And that was important because
God just wanted to be
Just another normal deity
Deity Deity Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty
All that God wanted to be
Was just a normal deity
All that God wanted to be
Was just another normal deity
All that God wanted to be
Was just a deity
Just a normal deity
All that God wanted to be
Just a normal deity
All that God wanted to be
Just a normal deity
All went well for quite a while
Man was a wonderful creature
With long rich engraved face
Four fine legs ending in five mini-legs
And a coat of satiney hair
And large genitals
His thoughts were pure and
Full of wonder
The wonder part was God's favorite,
(at least at first)
Because that's the part that gave Him
His Identity Identity Identity Identity
Oh, it was so wonderful for God
Man's... Man's questions turned to visions
And visions gave God
All kinds of exciting things to do
Someday He would be a God of wrath
Reeking havoc upon undiscipline mankind
And at other times He'd be a God of love and compassion
Of course these were all things that man had invented
So God had a hard time getting the full grasp
But...
One of His favorite things
Was man's believing in Him, and then not believing in Him
One of His favorite things
Was man's believing in Him, and then not believing in Him
Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
.......Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...........Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...............Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...................Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
.......................Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...........................Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...............................Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
...................................Believing in Him, Not believing in Him
.......................................Like some hide and seek game
...................................Over
...............................And
...........................Over
.......................And
...................Over and Over
...............Believing in Him
...........Believing in Him
.......Believing in Him
...Not believing in Him...
Not believing in Him?
I think He liked believing in Him much better...
But I'm not sure...

metallica - nothing else matters
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

This song makes me giggle:
Ugly Girl by Fiona Apple
When I saw you at the grocery store,
you were sharing a shopping cart with her,
and I couldn't turn and run away;
I didn't know what to say.
You introduced us for the first time,
and I had to look her in the eye,
but you could not imagine my surprise...
Can't you see? You're leaving me
for an ugly girl.
Does she talk about politics? And all the stuff that used to make me sick?
Does she smoke cigars and stay up late? Oh she's so great...
Does she tell you what you want to hear? And I bet that she could grow a beard.
I feel better thinking you were queer...
It's not fair, I can't compare
to an ugly girl,
to an ugly girl.
La la la la la la la...
Ha ha ha ha ha, the jokes on me;
I feel jealous, and I feel mean -
She's so nice that it makes up for her face.
There's no way...
Do you have to keep your eyes closed? Do you have to keep the lights down low? Oh, I bet you wish you had a blindfold.
Can't you see? You're leaving me
for an ugly girl,
an ugly girl.
She's an ugly girl
a real ugly girl.
La la la la la la la...
She's an ugly girl,
an ugly girl.
La la la...
She's an ugly girl.

Baby I Love You - (by) - The Yayhoos
Well you know I said I'd love you for all time.
Well sometimes I just can't believe you're mine.
But every now and then
I'm ready to say when
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.
Well in your arms is where I'll always stay
But something deep inside says not today
Well i'll be sitting here
working on this beer
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.
I try so hard each day
to make things go away
there's nothing left to say for tonight
For a couple of days I won't be coming around
I'm going to go get lost, I think I might skip town
Now I don't mean to pout
but you plain wore me out
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone
I tried dancing, I just want to go home
I know your cooking's great
But dinner will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone
Well I'm in a frazzled state
the party will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

this is the best song by beyonce
me, myself and i:
All the ladies if you feel me, help me sing it now...
I can't believe I believed
everything we had would last
so young and naive for me to think
she was from your past
silly of me to dream of
one day having your kids
love is so blind
it feels right when it's wrong
I can't believe i fell for your schemes
im smarter than that
so dumb and naive to believe that with me
you're a changed man
foolish of me to compete
when you cheat with loose women
it took me some time but now i've moved on
because i realised i got
me myself and i
that's all i got in the end
that's what i found out
and it aint no need to cry
i took a vow that from now on
i'm gunna be my own best friend
me myself and i
that's all i got in the end
that's what i found out
and it aint no need to cry
i took a vow that from now on
i'm gunna be my own best friend
so controlling, you said that you love me
but you don't
your family told me one day
i would see it on my own
next thing i know i'm dealing
with your three kids and my home
i've been so blind
it feels right when its wrong
now that it's over
stop calling me
come pick up your clothes
no need to front like you're still with me
all your homies know
even your very best friend
tried to warn me on the low
it took me some time
but now i am strong
because i realised i got
me myself and i
that's all i got in the end
that's what i found out
and it aint no need to cry
i took a vow that from now on
i'm gunna be my own best friend
me myself and i
that's all i got in the end
that's what i found out
and it aint no need to cry
i took a vow that from now on
i'm gunna be my own best friend
me myself and i
i know that i will never disappoint myself
all the ladies if you feel me
help me sing it now
yeah, you hurt me
but i learned a lot along the way
after all the rain
you'll see the sun come out again
i know that i will never disappoint myself

1000 words
By Jade or Koda Yumi
(OST - FFX-2)
I know that you’re hiding things using gentle words to shelter me
Your words were like a dream but dreams could never fool me
Not that easily
I acted so distant then, didn’t say goodbye before you left
But I was listening; you’ll fight your battles far from me
Far too easily
“Save your tears ‘cause I’ll come back”
I could hear that you whispered as you walked through that door
But still I swore to hide the pain when I turn back the pages
Shouting might have been the answer
What if I cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart?
But now I’m not afraid to say what’s in my heart
‘Cause a thousand words call out through the ages
Will fly to you even though I can’t see
I know they’re reaching you suspended on silver wings
‘Cause a thousand words, one thousand embraces
Will cradle you making all of your weary days seem far away
They’ll hold you forever
Oh a thousand words have never been spoken
They’ll fly to you and carry you home and back into my arms
Suspended on silver wings
Oh a thousand words, one thousand embraces
Will cradle you making all of your lonely years to only days
They’ll hold you forever
A thousand words…..
