Many years ago I was lucky enough to spend 3 months backpacking through Mexico. I just watched a documentary about this wonderful country and it bought back all those wonderful memories.
It also reminded me of how vast the country is and how much I missed. From the sprawling Copper Canyon,steamy Mayan ruins in Palenque and the cool uplands in San Cristobal. And my favourite little city of Cuernavaca.
And the food mmmmmmmmmmmmm

I heard it's a wonderful place to visit the further away you get from the border

I hope to go there someday.

As a Mexican I can guarantee that you´ll enjoy your visit to Mexico, but just remember to avoid dangerous areas. If you ever come to the state of Jalisco, remember to visit Guadalajara, Mazamitla, Chapala and Tequila you won't regret it.

Never cared to visit Mexico.

I don't think Drug Cartels were kidnapping, torturing, and killing like they do now, but I encourage any liberal to pay Mexico a visit in the near future. Wear lots of gold and carry around expensive cellphones and other electronics. Break a few laws and pay their prisons a visit as well.

i'm sorry but I can't let this statement go. As a "liberal socialist" who has travelled the world 'on the rough', this section;
"Wear lots of gold and carry around expensive cellphones and other electronics. Break a few laws and pay their prisons a visit as well."
, applies to every country in the world including the USA.

Yeah, really...the zona rosa in Mexico City is controlled by the cartels.

Not really a place I want to visit until they straighten that problem out.

Why exactly would you encourage any liberal to visit Mexico and do all those things? What's the message here? I kinda get where you're headed with this but a part of me finds it hard to accept such stupidity can exist.

You ever considered thinking about your statements before you post? I really hope it's just a passing phase and that you'll grow out of this later on. If you're already an adult and still fixated with this type of shit, get help.

Do you get kidnapping insurance before you go backpacking in the US like you would in Mexico?

You'll be waiting a long time considering how your average Mexican idolizes cartels.

More murders in Mexico in two days than in an entire month in Florida.

Not to mention I don't think I've heard much about mass dismemberments in florida. And if there are, its likely they are cartel related.
