A friend have argued with me that better advancement causes people to go out of work. This is something I came up with after hearing about his argument. For instance, if there is better health care, people would not go to the hospital as much, and doctors and nurses would go out of buisness which forces them to find other jobs in which they have no experience of. I have a feeling that such an argument i wrong, though I cannot come up with a good convincing argument. Who is going to pay for doctors that lost their jobs during this transition? Should we provide better healing or just mediocre healing and have people keep coming back to the hospital to pay for their needs? Should we provide mediocre materials for lamp and appliances so that people have to keep paying money replacing them? Please give me a convincing arguments that doing and trying the best would bring about greatness and profit

Medicine is involved in other areas, doctors will always be needed so no one is paying for unemployed doctors.
Better medical practice because people employed brings more money and keeps things running.
? No mediocre material because resources are low, decreasing and there will be more people in the world.
Argument? There's too much work that needs to still be done.
