Have you ever felt crestfallen? Do you ever use the word crestfallen?
Crestfallen means sad and disappointed.

I've been crestfallen quite a few times. Most involving some sort of drama. An example of this would be say... I become sad over losing a friend because some drama happened to break the friendship. After the initial annoyance and anger I'll become crestfallen about it however I move on as it'd be bad to dwell on the past forever.

I like using the word crestfallen instead of I'm sad and disappointed it just sounds better for some reason.

So have you ever felt crestfallen? Do you ever use the word crestfallen? Does the politics on CR make you crestfallen?

I'm consistently crestfallen on a daily basis, but that's just me.

I've felt crestfallen, who hasn't. However, I've never used that word crestfallen in my life.

I think of sad parakeets and cockatiels when people say 'crestfallen'.

No, I usually don't go out of my way to use weird words.

I find myself crestfallen every time I drop the toothpaste in the bathroom.

(Yes, I've laughed at that one since I was six years old. I make no apologies for that.)

I prefer melancholic myself. It just sounds... smoother?

melancholic: feeling or expressing pensive sadness or suffering from or denoting a severe form of depression.

Crestfallen is another good word, and if your age is true... you have quite the good vocabulary for someone your age. A test my mother loves to give her students is... "List words that are similar to big."

Gargantuan, titanic, colossal, plump, etc.. That may actually be a fun forum to make. Moreso than a lot of the ones currently here. Post a word of the day and then synonyms of it. Ima sleep on this and see if I should make one. Teach people new words and learn new ones yourself...

Several months ago when i got passed over for a promotion. I honestly wasn't expecting to get it, but it still hurt none-the-less.

I was in a sour mood for a few weeks.
