Soo...could this be why the codec on the PS4 is so damn bad? I'm using wired and the quality refuses to stay at HD for me when a few months ago it was contently running smoothly.

Writing was on the wall once CR started outsourcing. If you didn't get that memo and started looking for a new job then, I don't know what to tell you.

Reading stuff like this, while entertaining, makes me thankful that I can never be fired.

lots people are cancelling. you can watch same stuff crunchy roll has and same quality for free some where else on the internet. sometimes its upload before CR even has it rare but it does happen. . yes may be illegal but people do it. CR also makes a lot of there money on merchandise, unfortunately what they sell is cheap over priced low quality garbage. majority of people that use CR don't buy thing from their store. they don't use the forums. they just come here and watch anime. at a certain point in time was the only play you could legally watch few anime shows legally and support them. but everyone is just going to funi you get same stuff and way more content + better app and more English dubs. maybe CR ganna die surprise 2017.

I think your view on this is a perception that has developed only from conversing in certain circles. For one, you are ignoring the fact that everywhere you can watch CR's stuff for free (i.e. illegal sites), you can also watch all of Funi's stuff for free. They both lose a lot of money to piracy. As for participation in forums, store etc. I'd presume the exact same is true of Funi as it is of CR. There will always be people on both sites who use it for streaming and nothing more.

In regards to CR selling 'over-priced low quality garbage', while I admit the figures etc. are very expensive here compared to other (especially physical) outlets, I have bought several t-shirts here that were both reasonably priced and excellent quality. Similarly, while I've never bought anything direct from Funimation, I think almost everything they sell on their own site is rather over-priced as well.

Next, while I do not know the exact statistics as to who has more content, the vast majority of content hosted on CR and Funi is not hosted on the other service. There are some things on both, such as Attack on Titan, One Piece, Fairy Tail etc., but before the recent partnership, it was very uncommon for both services to share content. Even before the arrangement anyway, CR was consistently getting 1.5 to 3x the number of simulcast titles as Funimation were getting. As to getting more Englush dubs on Funimation, this is the main point I was referring to when I said your views have clearly developed from only speaking to like-minded individuals. Sorry to break it to you, but not everyone likes English dubs. Amongst the more 'hardcore' anime watching community, I am 100% certain subs are more popular. But anyway, it is no surprise that Funi has more dubs, when that is what the company has always been based around. Conversely, CR has always been based on subs and is an international service, so has a ton of non-English speaking users as well.

Since the partnership with Funi has happened, naturally each site will lose some paying members. This is because many people subscribed to both services in order to catch everything they wanted to see each season. Now that the two services are sharing a lot of content, many people who prefer dubs will have dropped their CR subscription, and likewise many people who prefer subs will have dropped their Funi subscription (I was one such person). If you looked at the CR forums after the partnership announcement, there were tons of posts saying things along the lines of 'Yay, time to drop my Funi subscription', whereas I imagine the opposite was true on the Funimation forums.

Also, I personally have only used CR's iPhone and PS Vita apps, and have had no problems with either that I can recall. I have never used any of Funi's apps, but I regularly see people complaining about both services' apps. I don't think either is triumphing particularly here.

First I dont like anybody losing JOBS / That being said some thoughts

1 With CR / FUNI agrrement I think Funi also still acquire new animes ( as they have long time relationships with Studios etc ) If that is true CR needs less staff to acquire new anime.

2 A lot of the News / Articles are done by freelance or bloggers that have their own sites . So Maybe a few were not needed there !

3 Very important / the very poor customer response to problems were handled poorly a lot of times .I see people cant even subscribe lately What happens keep ignoring lirrle complaints until it's felt by many users . There was poor decision making somewhere .

4 So many people have problems with video streaming and was either ignored fix it yourself / find plugs-ins for the only weebsite I use !

5 . Thus sadly and in many cases it has driven subscribers even free viewers back to Fan-Subs.

6 CR should have the HTML.5 player as lots of Browses dont support flash w / o magic fixes.

7. If this makes more room for Tech / Support it wiil be good Do you hear us now ?

8 In looking back did CR being gobbled up ruin the fan experience for many anime fans ! Sometimes bigger is not better.

9 in trying to oydo FUNI / NetFlix / TAN / Amazon did qualitly suffer A very good valid ??

10 I read some comments about how the forums are dying ( With APPS people dont bother ) Or a biiger problem these new brash abisive fans get away with abuse ! I get oh they didnt swear ot it's kinda excused away I know good anime fans who dont post because of thhes forum trolls ( lurkers ) BTW when CR was smaller some it was fun but with the new batch it'ds jusy not the samE !

I like CR but cant anime w/o all kinds of problems ( The ony website that does this to me ) I can watch FUNI w/o a glitch!

And this video problems have been ongoing for well over 2 years now on and off

Oh the terrible Customer service replies and fix it yourself with patches changes to the DNS etc. Again the only website I have to do this

You would think they would have a annocement on problems / ans or being looked into worked on !

for me im on an Linux Rig so i been inspecting problems since i made the Floss jump but the current state of the CR management scares me. not with outsourcing but with the mess of how they mess with the workers. to tell the truth i though when they team up Funi things were going south anyways but so far Funi done more good then bad. but i have no respect for Funi. because of malicious community and very bad choices on a few anime Dubbs. i will be praying for all the people affect to find an job but i feel like CR need to be reform. when i mean Reform i mean. if it works dont fix it.

Crunchyroll sold out a couple years ago, so stuff like this doesn't really come as much of a surprise. Those employee reviews posted above are pretty much exactly what I would have expected to see.

It's kind of sad, since I really believed in what we were all doing here for several years. It felt like being a part of something important that was going on in the western anime community. But ever since the Chernin acquisition nothing has really seemed all that great here anymore.

You should not be too worried about CR. If they want to ruin the service for us we can watch anime on Amazon soon enough and as everything they touch turns to gold it might even be a better service, especially since they have brilliant existing vendor relations.

We're at a stalemate, I don't know how to paraphrase that any clearer.

Agreed. But unfortunately It don't think most of the Mods here get paid anything except a free premium account.

That sounds familiar. It makes me think the main benefit for firing the mods is to increase the number of customers by 17.

They are fair for the most part. You just need to play by their rules.

Honestly the one thing I give Funimation over CR ( aside from a superior player ) is that it doesn't have comments or forum cancer. >.>

How is that a logical response?
