Loving the slow build, already deepening the relationships between the bandmates one by one. Good thing this is slated for 25 eps. I liked the way they handled it. Albeit Kasumi being super persistent, it showed Arisa slowly accepting the situation.

Looks like we get Bass girl next ep, and I am pretty curious to see how they get Yamabuki to join (Drummer) since she turned down the initial invitation.

Where other than Mal does it say it's 25 episodes? This season is only 13 episodes long. There are 7 blurays with one episode, number 13, in volume 7, plus some bonus material. 7 BDs, 13 episodes, official site:

On ANO/TAN it is only 13 episodes, ending April 15th.

It would be weird to have a second cour or season of only 12 episodes. I predict a second season of 13 episodes has already been planned out, perhaps even pre-production started. Same formula and producers as LoveLive. Probably a movie already planned as well.

Don't feel bad, it got my hopes up too but a quick check showed there's no way it could be true. Not sure where Mal got that misinformation from, probably some supposed early pre-season leak from some Asian TV channel listing.

Episode 2

This episode we have Kasumi wanting to form a band with Arisa who refuses and takes back her guitar. That doesn't stop Kasumi as she even goes to her house the next morning to waker her up and follows her to school. During lunch time Kasumi runs into Rimi who plays the bass and Kasumi asks her to join her band. Later Arisa tells her she can't have the guitar so she should stop tying to act as a friend and that she has the guitar up for auction. This still does't stop Kasumi as she still goes over to Arisa's place and even helps her clean out the warehouse.

Little by little Kasumi gets the chance to see the star shape guitar until the handle of the guitar breaks and the guitar gets damaged. Arisa see's how much Kasumi cares for the guitar that after getting it fixed she finally caves in, and gives it to her for the fee of removing it from auction. Also turns out that in the end Rimi may not join Kasumi's band so it will be up to Kasumi once again.

Episode 3

Well, that's one way to get Rimi to join the band as Kasumi brought her over to the concert venue, and then when it looked like the show was over with Glitter Green nowhere to be found, Kasumi kept the audience there by singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and when Glitter Green arrived, she performed with them. So Rimi is now on board, but it wasn't easy to convince her to join.

Episode 3: I Ran Away

Ayyeeee Twinkle Twinkle Little Star hype. Man when Rimi-rin hit that bass I started head bobbing to the song. Twinkle twinkle little star at that. Then when Glitter Green came on and added more whew that was great.

Nice development episode though focus on Rimi-rin's circumstances and her reason for being hesitant of joining the band. And through Kasumi showing her bravery on the stage she decided to step her game up as well.

Two more to go, Saya looks like she'll be a likely candidate as it looks like she may have a history with music. Curious to see why she's avoiding it so much. And Tae (green eyes) will probably be the one who teaches Kasumi how to guitar.

Looking forward to it

episode 3
her twinkle twinkle little star song was just adorable <3
from what i recall, this song is used when teaching beginners on how to play piano, etc, so choosing this song really makes the impression of a band that's just barely starting out. a beginner band, so to speak. it gives the impression of a fresh leaf, and it makes you want to cheer them on. i loled at Arisa's reaction, and it's nice to see Rimi joining them.

Episode 3

Rimi tells Kasumi that she can't join the band after all, but doesn't really give an explanation as to why. Later she tells her that it is due to be afraid of getting attention from people so being in band is impossible for her. Kasumi and Arisa go to the concert venue to see the bands play and there is a problem as Rimi's sister band hasn't arrived yet. In order to by time for them the other bands agree to help out and Kasumi even goes on stage and sings a song with Arisa and later Rimi who gets courage from watching them. In the end Rimi's sisters band arrives and they perform and asked the three girls to sing with them. Rimi decides to join the band and with three members now Kasumi aims for the cultural festival.

Ah, poor Arisa. Getting all embarrased.

But seriously, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star? The band version of was nice, though.

Of course, Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star also fits with all the star themes on the show, the star guitar, the good job stars given out for piano recitals... and it's perfect as a beginner's song as well, much more believable here than in Fuuka that beginners would learn that fast.

I'm enjoying the show but I think its started out too slowly to become a big hit. I was thinking this could be the next LoveLive! but it doesn't seem like it, which is too bad.

Episode 4

This episode Tae is introduced and first thing she tells Kasumi is that she is weird. Turns out that she said that because those who play the Random Star are weird people. Kasumi and Tae get along later that they start practicing together but this makes Arisa jelly and even calls Kasumi a liar for not practicing with them. Kasumi feeling bad about it goes to Arisa's place to apologize but Arisa plays hard to get and as Kasumi gives up finally forgives her. Now that they have made up Kasumi invites Tae to join the band and play in the festival but Tae tells her that is not possible. My guess is that they need a drummer in order for the band to play and we still need Saaya to join.

Episode 5

Kasumi's "Get Otae's heart to pound" plan, ends up roping in Otae herself to play guitar, on a song extolling the virtues of chocolate coronets.

So they're now working as a four-piece, with just Saya left to join.

This show is rapidly becoming a guilty pleasure for me, with Saya and Otae balancing out Kasumi nicely.

It's always more fun to play in a group. When Kasumi joined in with O-Tae I have to admit my heart skipped a beat. The way the group is forming feels very organic. Now I'm wondering how they'll bring Saya in. She seems to take her responsibilities at the family bakery very seriously. I'm thinking that girl with the bob who paused at the window is going to have something to do with it.

I really like the slower pace of this show compared to other idol shows.

I can't wait for Saaya to officially join and see the band complete.

Episode 5

This episode Kasumi was trying to get Tae heart to pound so that she can see that there band will make it. In order to do that Kasumi first has to learn to play the strings since she can't understand how to read them. Rimi also comes up with a song so the girls decide to play it in front of small audience they invited and it was a success. In the end Tae approves of the band and is part of it now they need the drummer.
