Anyone else not tell anyone you enjoy anime? I used to watch anime on Cartoon Network when I was younger. Mostly Dragonball and Gundam stuff. Got nostalgic for reasons I won't go into and found Crunchyroll. Watched an anime called Orange and got sucker punched right in the feels. So I've been watching anime again but I haven't told anyone because I think they would find it super weird. I guess because I'm an adult I think people will think I'm weird. Does this make any sense?

I cared for a while, but really I could care less nowadays. I got tired of hiding myself from other people. No matter what you do, someone has something to say about it - so why bother right?

It's not something I throw around. I don't go around saying kawaii and what not. I have a Dragon Ball Z shirt though. And if someone asked, I would tell them that I do like anime. I'm not ashamed of it, I'm just not a weeb.

Who cares? Even I'm too old to pretend I don't have interests I have just because they aren't popular.

Same here, I don't shove it in peoples faces but I don't hide it. I have a couple One Piece shirts and that's about the extent of my otaku-ness. I'm also too old to give a crap.

To be honest I don't have any friends who watch anime regularly so I don't have anyone to share with. So anime just never gets brought up.

Well..Nobody is ever to old for anime because it is made for everyone! From what I sometimes see on some anime's they are mostly meant for adults. But if you are uncomfortable telling people you like anime then thats okay.

I used to be like that in high school (not telling anyone i liked anime) only about one or two close friends knew I watched it. But after high school i didn't care anymore and was open about it. It turned out a lot of people i hung out with watched it too! now a couple people i was only acquaintance with back then are now some of my best friends and we bond over anime and we suggest anime's to watch.

Just do you
Do what makes you happy, if it doesn't hurt anyone then go ahead
I'm very vocal about my anime fandom, I have a Homura keychain, have a Miku charm hanging on my rear view mirror, own multiple anime shirts I even have some nendoroids at my desk at work.
You shouldn't care what other people think imo

I used to be like that. I would never ever buy merchandise, either, because I was embarrassed.

Now, if people don't want to associate with me just because I like anime, then whatever. It's not my problem. I have a bunch of anime shirts, and a slowly growing collection of manga, DVDs, and a few figurines. However, there's still apart of me that's a little apprehensive about it, so I don't mention I enjoy anime IRL until someone else does...

Most people have some hobby or interest that differs from that of their friends and families. Its unfortunate when others do not enjoy the same things you do. But I think you gotta stick with the things you like, without feeling ashamed or worried, or you wont be happy.

I don't try to hide it. I just really don't have any friends who like it. I don't have any anime shirts or anything either. If someone brings it up though I talk about my love for anime.

That is why I am on this forums on the internetz in the first place. I have no anime friends irl. XD
