Which is fine. But I was not arguing anything about the legality of the situation. Nor did I condone it anywhere. I was criticizing you for not bothering to learn about the topic. As you straight up had to ask us if the dude was a real nazi. Then made a terrible analogy.

What, exactly, do you think this guy ( who is a Nazi ) is normally doing? Seriously, you need to learn who this dude is before you get all indignant here.

Hey now, no need to be so hard on yourself.

There is nothing to learn about the topic. It's vague and open ended.

If your talking about the guy who got elbowed. My point still stands. I do not have to know who he is only what he was doing. He did not commit any crimes or make threats therefore it was wrong to attack him. I didn't like Hillary but that doesn't give me a right to elbow her in the face and chuck her into a van like a side of beef

You would love to punch me do you Rujikin! -smiles- Barbarian will alway be Barbarian!

You got a bit more than just getting punched in the head.

Just saying.

You know that was my double right? Do you really think that Barbarian Karkarov I mean Colin can defeat me with that sword play level?

Hey you were one handing your sword. Why did you not just grab the other guy's handle with your free hand and stop the attack? It's not hard to do and works very well with single weapon combat.

Again and again like I told everyone, that was my double on that day! His sword play isn't same as mine! Do you really think Barbarian Karkarov/Colin can take on me with that child play?

Nah not interested in punching you, I would like to fight you with some swords. Your right, during the warm months I get to go full medieval barbarian on my friends. It's kind of annoying being cooped up unable to hit anyone with a sword.

You can punch anyone, but only if they attack first or you have a reasonable fear that you or someone you care about is in immediate danger.

Well that's good since generally when talking about a Nazi you are talking about white supremacy. Which so happens to include genocide.

Legally no you shouldn't. Ethically yes you should as should everyone.

Ethically, you should not perform a preemptive attack on the basis of a mere belief. This turns quickly into thought-policing when people should be able to think and believe what they wish.

Sounds stupid, but the alternative is thought-policing, which is far worse.

Genocide is actual preparation and intent to commit it, or actually committing genocide, not a mere belief that genocide is acceptable or makes a person happy.

Your mind is like a room in an apartment complex. You can think whatever nasty and awful thoughts you want as long as you're in that room. But once your mess spills out the door and into the common area, that's when we have a problem.

And I already know this is going to lead to something about preventing a violent crime before it happens. That is sometimes acceptable but you need to have a reasonable belief and some pretty solid certainty that this person is going to commit that crime or aid someone in committing it in such a substantial way that they must be stopped beforehand. That's a pretty high standard.

I don't think violence is necessary, but... I definitely would not feel guilty punching a nazi. Especially since they believe in ideals that do far more harm than a single punch. So. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Violence is definitely a necessity. Force and physical power is the gold standard by which rules and laws are enforced. It's not wise to always resort to violence first, but it's necessary when peaceful negotiation does not work.

I forget which YouTuber talked about this....Anyway, they mentioned something about escalation of violence.

It's a truth. Violence begets more violence. Welcome to the vicious cycle.

Well do what you want, but I wouldn't call it okay unless it's a provoked response. By "provoked," I don't mean them holding offensive opinions but rather things they actually did to you.

That Richard Spencer guy does seem very sketchy, but he literally said he wasn't a Neo-Nazi in the video right before he got punched, so I suspect he's just a victim of the anarchists running amok right now. If he's some kind of Alt-Right trying to find political identity, hopefully becoming a bit more moderate and distancing himself even further from Neo-Nazis, then the whole "Punch the Nazis" argument doesn't really apply.

I mean, if we know he's full of shit and he's not setting things on fire like the other idiots right now, then why the heck assault him over the masked nutjobs throwing bricks at police. Right, because it was just another masked nutjob doing the assault. Felony rioting.

Yes.
But make sure they do something evil first, like attempt to mug or kidnap you.

Just like any asshole in life.
