This is my first time posting here on the forums and I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. But I assume that since its the Advice, Info and Recommendations category, this is the best place to start.

My question is this. In a chronological order of when they were released, where should I start with the Fate/ Series as a whole? I want to start watching it, but I am unsure where to start and Wikipedia is just confusing me about it.

I would go with

Fate/ Zero
Fate/ Stay Night
Fate/ Stay Night UBW (optional really but I suggest seeing it none the less).

There is also the Fate/ Kaleid liner prisma illya (if you're into that sort of thing) but it's more alternative universe/comedy

I personally started with Fate/ Stay Night UBW and while it looks nice and good I prefered the original Fate/ Stay Night over it but UBW has some stuff to offer and if your this far it it's worth the watch.

Ok. So start with the prequel and then go from there. That works for me and I will probably get to the Fate/ Kaleid liner prisma illya show after that. I am not to picky about alternative universes and comedy's lol. Thank you for the information.

Everyone you ask will have a different opinion. Some advise watching in the order they were released; some say watch the Fate/Stay Night versions before moving to Zero; some say watch the prequel first; some say not to watch anything until you have read the entire visual novel.

There is no perfect answer. Just give any of them a try and start from there.

Nah, watch stay night first, it's the worst one, but it's probably better to watch it anyway.
Than watch blade works
Then watch zero

This again. Just watch them in release order. A prequel is a sequel, it comes after.

Fate Zero > Fate Stay Night , same as the official sequence. Or just make a toss!

That seems pretty fair MidoriNoTora. Also no problem Mannamine.

In case there's still confusion, here's the release order:

Fate/stay night (2006)
Fate/Zero (2011)
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014)

Fate/Zero deals with events that are hinted at in Fate/stay night and take place before it. Fate/Zero is a sequel and spoils Fate/stay night. It's like a flashback, and naturally makes more sense if you've already watched the first series and know who the characters are and what's going on.

Those who have played the visual novel/game/whatever-it-is are going to tell you to avoid Fate/stay night and read the VN. But if you're only interested in the anime, I think it's safe to ignore that advice.
