Windows 10 is GOD AWFUL.

Forget the problems with the UI, ads in the start menu, and spyware faggotry....

The real problem is having NO CONTROL over updates. This is unacceptable for business. Updates run how they want, when they want. You can turn windows update off, but It will magically turn its self back on.

For home use, I've dug my windows 7 trench.

For customers, I will soon (when win7 licenses are no longer available) be FORCED to pirate win7.

They SAY that if you get the pro version, you have downgrade rights..... but have you ever tried using them?

I'll tell you one thing, the corporate world cannot function without Windows 7. Too many higher end software packages have no support on win 8 or win 10 yet and many of them are probably going to roll the dice and stick with 7 out of desperation.

I love the:

"This software does not support your browser, please you Internet Explorer 6" for some of our wonderful software . . .

All I have to say.

i switched windows 10 for the last 2-3 months (per-installed with the new laptop i got)

it's not bad though.. my old laptop has windows 7.

I had to disable a lot of the apps and privacy settings

the annoying thing is you can't remove the Microsoft apps that you don't use.. like the xbox app

Windows 10 has more holes and ways to break it than 7. The more your computer connects to everything the more holes you get.

I am stopping at windows 7 permanently. I only keep it around to play a windows only game once in a blue moon. I'm on linux 99% of the time.

thanks for the warning Microsoft. i'll make sure my next desktop runs on linux or mac os to avoid the dangerously insecure windows.

Thats the spirit! If you want an easy transition I suggest Linux Mint: https://linuxmint.com/

And this is why both Microsoft and Apple have experienced a dramatic drop in sales of desktop systems. The vast majority of people don't need a desktop and a cheap 10" droid tablet costing less than $100 is sufficient for the vast majority of users. Microsoft and Apple seem locked into the late 20th century business model whereas users spend hundreds or thousands of dollars every two years so they can play games and access the internet.

i don't know about Microsoft, but i'm pretty sure Apple is doing just fine. being named the most valuable company in 2016 is probably no easy task. everyone knows Apple is expensive, but some will still buy it regardless. a $5,000 car from the recycle center is sufficient for the vast majority of drivers, but many of us would rather pay a little more and get a Civic, or a Tesla.

And moast people won't pay $500,000 for a ferrari when they just need a civic but some people who need to show off their wealth will. As I said before the vast majority of users who only do email and chat online or play freemium games online don't need a Apple Ferrari only narcissists who have to say "my toy costs more than yours" need something with a apple logo. Apple might be doing well on wallstreet due to their 300% profit margin due in large part to cheap Chinese labor but the number of actual devices in use was what I was talking about. And there Apple is sucking hind tit to Google.

Well then let them continue to use Windows 7. When they get hacked they'll have no right to complain. : )

Apple sells the "apple experience" instead of an apple is or apple apps. It works because some people like the apple experience. Others hate it and will never convert.

From what I've seen most people that are upset with W10 run several resource draining programs. Is anyone who makes heavy of their hardware happy with W10? I get the feeling people who like W10 are mostly using computers for light use like chat/skype/surfing/movies.
