the game is out today

the reviews are good overall (for now)

i know switching from 3rd person to 1st person will not please some gamers..

i started with RE4.. so i'm still skeptical about this game.

i'll try the demo first

I have a reserved limited edition copy at Gamestop that I should try to pick up today.
Just one of those moments where I'm not really all that enthralled since there are so many other games out today. Yakuza, Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Berseria.... I'll pick it up, for sure (Gamestop tends to give out reserved limited editions if they're not picked up within a day or two in my experience). I just don't think that the first person shift is something that'll resonate with me too well, to be honest.

games depreciate so quickly.. you sure you want to buy them all at once at full price ?

the price will drop as they are gathering dust while you are busy with another game.. why not buy one. .. complete/beat it and then buy another

Games lose value the moment you open them, technically. For example, I have a copy of Chrono Trigger (SNES) in its original factory wrap - sealed in a plastic case. I can sell it for $1,200+ easily. The same game, complete with the box and instruction booklet .. just that the factory wrap was removed would only be sold for $80-200 (depending on the desire of the buyer). So even if you got a PS4 game on sale for $30 and try to sell it for profit - you have a few weeks before the next "latest and greatest" game comes out and that game you bought loses most of its value.

Whatever price point I end up buying the game for is worth it - as long as I'm playing it to its completion. I don't buy games to sell them, basically. Like I mentioned in the other thread - I have boxes of PS3 games that I could probably sell for $100 total (but cost me ...at least $30,000 - not including the limited editions, the imported games, and the likes). I don't intend on selling them, either.

I plan to, just not right now. While I love me some horror games, and the demo was fun, I just have other games I need to clear before making time for this one. Nice to see the reception it's getting after the series' last few sub-par entries.

that's how used games will be

i don't like buying full price games at one time and by the time i got around to open them they are already $30+ less!!

The links and promo codes you had only gave free shipping - standard price.
Speaking of Kingdom Hearts... impulse/random purchase:

Gamestop was about to sell off their last "Collector's Edition" of Resident Evil 7 (my reserved one) because it was nearing closing time. I interrupted the guy as he was about to ring up the guy... pretty annoying, that.

the promo code will give you $10 off each game

shipping is free.. or you can use shoprunner (only viewable on desktop view) for free 2 day shipping

T-mobile tuesday gave out 6 months trial of shop runner before.. Paypal gave out 1 year.. If you have American Express credit card then shoprunner is free pretty much

Shoprunner is not available for all items but it is truely 2 day shipping!-- i'm not in a hurry to ge the stuff i ordered online but it's free! i don't see why not..

they can do that? you already paid for the game right ? so unless it is you picking up they should not be able to sell it to another person

The keyword there is shouldn't. This has been the case in pretty much any gaming store that I've been to in the last 20ish years (from Babbage's to Electronic Boutique to Funcoland to Gamestop) .. what it boils down to is, if you don't get it immediately - they assume you don't want it. The thing is that some customers only put down the required amount (which in most cases is $5). So even when someone, like me, pays the whole $180 - they only assume that I'm another one of those "$5 pre-order" guys. lol.

$10 off is pretty much standard - not much of a "decline in value" thing seeing as most companies are giving you a certain percentage off of newer games (Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, and such). I bought the regular version of Tales of Berseria for $48 - MRSP is $59.99 (from Gamestop). In fact, the most expensive game in that lineup was Kingdom Hearts ($60) because I bought it from Target while my girlfriend and I were grabbing a few things.

$180? wow.. that's even higher than Beseria CE.. with tax it's around $200 ?

you will not believe that there are people who will pay full price $60+ tax

i use bestbuy or costco

newegg has free shipping and no sale tax.. which is a plus for those who like save a bit of money

you need membership to get it down to $45-$50 price for new releases though.. . even though they will have sale once in a while

i know for you a couple of bucks less is not that big of a deal... but for those on a limited budget/income.. any saving will help

I've been on a limited income/budget in the past - but mostly due to circumstances. I'll probably be there again one day or another - just not today, as far as I know.

But you have to admit, the Gamestop Resident Evil 7 Limited Edition is pretty awesome. The music box awesome enough on its own. But knowing how things are, and as we've spoken about earlier today, the value of these things can vary depending on whether or not they're opened and the fanbase for the game. I might not bother picking up a "playable" version of this ... (like I did with ToB) and just play the game that came in the CE.

VHS tape

"please rewind after use" it's on every VHS tape you rented from Blockbuster

you are right.. RE7 CE looks pretty nice

at that price it's for enthusiasts mostly

i think Titanfall 2 collector's edition has some life size helmet or something?

these $150 + collector's edition.. how many do they have available? 5,000-10,000 ?

Aha, yeah. It's a box that contains the USB stick, coincidentally enough. As for the amount, some of them are seemingly endless. I did buy the Final Fantasy XV "Ultimate Collector's Edition" for almost $300 .. sold it for $1,600 (someone offered it to me on another forum when I posted pictures). They only had 30,000 of them, internationally (but will probably come out with more later on).
