I seemed to like DRRR a lot but I can not get into Baccano. What I am finding odd about this is that in attempts to find stuff similar t DRRR, Baccano is the big suggestion but it was just not captivating me the same way

Both light novels are written by Ryogo Narita. I like both. There's nothing wrong with liking one and not the other. If you like reading, you might be interested in reading Etsusa Bridge which is also about gangs and rivalry and written by the same author.

or Vamp! which is a series about vampires, eaters, a vampire organization, etc. I personally like Vamp the most out of Narita's works. The author gets super creative with the different types of vampires in this series and I love the characters and their backstories.

Vamp seems more appealing. It's not about the gang stuff in DRRR, it was the characters more. It is also much more slice of life than Baccano part to do with the time era but also just the details of everyones day to day life was more normal. It's quite a unique mix of characters and events to be squeezed into a seemingly slice of life setting

I hate to make you cry stars, but I'm with TFSfanboy on this one.

I also liked Durarara more than Baccano. In fact I dropped Baccano after just a few episodes; it simply wasn't keeping my interest and I found the comic duo Isaac and Miria annoying.

In Durarara I find the character more interesting, like them more, like the SoL aspect, and prefer the contemporary setting.

Yeah, the characters were what drew me into Durarara too. I think you'll enjoy Etsusa Bridge as well since it has an interesting mix of characters and it is more of a slice of life, similar to Durarara while Vamp is more of a fantasy. The more intriguing characters in Vamp first appears in volume 2 so be patient when you read it :P

Bro, I don't even think the two are comparable from what I've seen.

I actually haven't finished anything aside from the first season of DRRR but I don't know if I could pick a favorite. They do have similar styles, and the way the story unfolds but other than that they are pretty different. I need to find the time to finish DRRR but it's been so long I'll need a refresher.
