I really hope it will be, however the launch is quite weak, so is most launches. A lot of negativity around the system so far. Kinda sad. Yes 80 games are in dev for it however some will be canceled regardless of success, even more if fail. I really hope it is successful. What do you think?

Hopefully it will be, but I am not too knowledgeable. I thought there was a lot of hype for it in my knowledge?

Nintendo needs to make people excited over the console, not just the hardcore mario and zelda fans. they had a chance of doing just that with the Switch reveal, but while some of the games looked fun to play, it didn't generate much excitement. People who disliked the hybrid functionality had only more reason not to get the console. It's fairly expensive and the battery life is nothing to write home about. There was a research on developers opinion a while back, and out of 200+ interviewed, only 5% had any plans on making any games for Switch at the time - which means Nintendo wasn't able to excite developers. Nintendo stocks dropped significantly right after they revealed Switch, implying that even stock holders don't have much hope it will succeed. maybe it won't fail like Wii U, but i have my doubts it'll be anywhere close to the original Wii in terms of sales.

tl;dr: maybe it won't be a Wii U, but it's hardly likely it'll be another Wii in total sales.

We kind of already have a topic for this -- already on the gaming forum.

I haven't quite voiced my opinion on this just yet but I do have a pre-order for the Switch and the limited edition "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"

supposedly, new 3ds will get it's own successor sometime later (maybe in 2018?)
once it becomes available, i can't see it helping boost sales of Switch.

I hope it will be.

Only time will tell. I don't have any plans on buying it currently, but it'd be nice to see Nintendo succeed. I've always been a fan of their game franchises.

Hard to say since we don't know when Sony and Microsoft will release their own 9th generation consoles. I actually more interested in what the PS5 and XBox Two will be like. Technically the Nintendo Switch is the first console in the 9th generation of video game consoles. I would say that Sony and Microsoft will probably release their next generation consoles in 2018 or 2019. I would be very disappointed if the next gen consoles for Sony and Microsoft will be just graphical updates, since due to the laws of diminishing returns , it is no longer possible to increase graphical fidelity in such a way where you can see any improvements in graphical fidelity.

Nintendo is already behind again before they even launch . Just like when they launched the WiiU . Again , they has a chance to do something great . All the Switch is a rebadged NVidia Shield , the older one at that , under the hood . They should of used the newer NVidia chip in it , but no ..... WiiU all over again . Plus the price is too high for what you get .

I guess Nintendo learned nothing from the Wii U.

I saw a recent article with analysts claiming that the system will sell 20 millions? by 2019-20 ?

drop the price down to to $250

the controller to $20.. with the pro controller for $50

to me it's like Wii U 2.0

Meh the thing is a glorified tablet with crappy battery life. How is it that the company that started the gaming revolution can't seem to compete anymore?
