If you had any creative ideas, would you ever consider writing a story? It doesn't have to be a long story it can be short. So would you ever write a story?

I wish I could draw. I just don't have the patience for it.

I have actually written a few short novels. I wouldn't say they are amazing, just for fun. I also write fanfic. I use to write comics in hs and ms, now those sucked. I am not the most creative but creating a world is so much fun. You should do it not only does it help your grammar, but a good hobby or time killer. However, I would never try to get them published. Nothing I do is good enough.

During my "younger days" (15-23) I wrote a lot. I tried to get a few of my novels published and was even offered to have one of them published (it was just at the worst possible time in my life to be dealing with an editor). As time progressed, I've realized that being published doesn't necessarily matter - I've been published academically a number of times (and some of my research used for other academic papers/articles). The difference was that I had more fun when writing "just to write". Whether it was a silly short-story, a fanfic about Ragnarok Online characters, or a concept that didn't have a plotted out storyline ... it was fun to write.

I did have a short-lived webcomic before they became 'a thing' (back when Megatokyo was amazing, Penny Arcade had just started, and there wasn't a "distributor" for webcomics yet). It lasted about six months. The plot was a bit absurd. It was about two nerds who ran a gaming shop, only to have computers that were designed with biotech (the catch was that the manufacturer had sent them both computers that had their ex girlfriends' brains in them...). Yeah, don't ask.. I was 17.

I'm not so much into the writing hobby as I used to be, mind you. It may be due to the exhaustion of my imagination, who knows? Either way, I'll always support someone wanting to be creative.

I should start writing more. I want to write for video games, or movies, or anime. Basically cool media forms, I want to write for. I also want to make said video games, anime and movies. However, since i'm not japanese, one of those is out of the question.

I just get super frustrated when I look at my own writing. I have written some music reviews. One time I had a crush on someone and wrote a fantasy about us being together. Man...that was embarrasing

I've got loads of ideas for a book, been thinking of more and more for it as time goes but I've not tried to actually write a book yet, got a concept, a good story imo but I just don't have much time to write

Well, yeah. It can be fun to write occasionally. The problem is I really have no creative imagination.

I've written a crossover fanfic crossing You're Under Arrest and Highschool of the DEAD. I haven't completed it but I hope to do so some day.

Exercise your writing creativity like you would learn a new skill, you need to master over time

I like coming up with stories and seemingly try to perfect the plot over a long period of time. I don't write it down, though, but I never forget. Additionally, I like drawing the characters. Character design, backstory, and personality are the things I really like doing the most when creating a story. Though, I don't really have the courage to commit to something like it just yet, and I'll often jump from one kind of idea to another. I'm not afraid to say that a lot lack originality, too... well it's only until near the end I realise that it's too similar to other things.
But, hey, it's fun process. To answer the question, I guess it's situational, but I lean towards yes.

It's a matter of getting it into words on paper for me.
