Post Reply If you had creative ideas, would you ever consider writing a story?

I already have written scripts writing takes time so lately not has much of that time..

I have creative ideas all the time and I want to write a story, but I mean I just don't like writing. I don't want to put in the effort using all the descriptive words and imagery and what not. I would try to make a comic or whatever, but I'm terrible with art as well. And, to top it off, I just don't really have the time. Maybe when I'm older.

I actually just wrapped up my first full length novel and I'm probably going to seek out publishing options pretty soon. Since then I haven't really been writing but I've been wanting to get back into it.

If I could actually sit down and not procrastinate, I would write all the books. I'm currently working on a story right now; it's called Graveyard Shift, but I'm not even done with the first chapter. It's been a work in progress for over a year now. Given that I've scrapped a few dozen drafts, but... Yeah. I also want to turn it into a comic.

Maybe, though writing isn't my favorite thing to do.

Sure, from time to time I enjoy writing out interesting scenarios or interesting characters. I've got tons of stuff written down in notes that have gotten scattered through my school notebooks. As far as publishing goes though, I don't have any such story that I've written that i would be able to flesh out into a full length novel, at least not without some commitment of time which I really don't have.
Generally i'll be struck with an idea for something and just think it over for a little before i grab a notepad and jot it down. For writing a story, i actually like to work with pencil and paper a bit more than just typing it out, because it gives me a little more time to think while i'm writing.

If you want to write, then I absolutely think you should. It's one of the best ways to explore your own creativity. But if you're having to force yourself to write then it's just not worth it.

I have and I do . It's like birthing and raising a child without all the messy parts. Having pride in what you create can be an uplifting experience.

writing is too difficult

Yes. But I don't finish them so even when competitions pop up for a story or a novel, I never manage to place one in. Haha...

I'm currently in the process of writing what will hopefully become a webcomic one day.

I actually write fanfics and a few original stories but I tend to procrastinate and get distracted so I don't finish quickly at all.

I love to write and draw my own characters but I'm not really that good. I'm trying to write something to submit to a publisher but it might get rejected. The one I passed a few months back got rejected, too so...

This is something I do a lot now. After five years studying film-making, I became more interested in the writing side of things after writing a few short film scripts. Whenever I do get an idea, I just write the idea down in a couple of sentences in a notebook while I focus on the one I'd be working on at the time.
