Surely this is a joke.

I have friends i plan to visit in America and someone i love who lives there and honestly im hoping this is just fake news.
No one should be forced to have an interview to visit a country and it shouldn't be insanely hard to visit a country.

Can you guys prove this is fake news so i don't need to be more dissapointed

Yep, strap yourself in, he's going full asshole in the first month it would seem.

Funny, people who think policies like this are 'making America great again', need to go pick up an American history book. Patriots no doubt!

I'm gonna go ahead and go out on a limb and say it'll be all countries?

Also, as one who's visited Australia... You're really not one to talk about the difficulty of visiting one's country.

Maybe it's not such a bad idea to know what sort of folks are visiting us? Just saying, it's only an interview. If you can't answer some simple questions, why should we let you come over here?

I mean, if I was in France or Japan, I sure as heck wouldn't let Madonna in. Seriously though, it's not a huge deal.

I would think this is one of those things that could easily be kept in the First Hundred Days of Trump. We've had similar threads closed that were "for Trump" (and his "recent decisions/reactions of said actions") since we can easily throw the vast majority into that thread.

That being said - I think if something like this were to be enacted, the TSA would definitely have to be improved tenfold. It's next to impossible to get through customs and immigration without it taking another 10-20 minutes as it is in regular sized airports (and even longer for larger airports). This would just make it a nightmare to travel to the United States for any country. It would definitely cut down on our tourism significantly.

Edit:
Also, we already "interview" people as they come into the United States. When going through immigration, you have to answer some default/generic questions about what you intend on doing when you're in the country, where you're going to stay (which, of course, having proof of a hotel and a return flight are both good things to have), and things like that. This just seems like it'd make it even more elaborate and unnecessary.

I think he is concerned with migrants from Indonesia that come into your country as refugees/settle. Assuming reading article correctly.

I have never seen anything on campaign trail (believe me, I watch) about him suggesting anything regarding Australia, so you probably shouldn't worry (for now).

Too bad I already get a "sit down" (or like) interview every time I goto Canada. Twice now. Just returning the favor.

Bring it up in the First Hundred Days thread please. I'm closing this one.
