Nothing works for me. I don't even get ads playing. The first time I tried my CR account there, but all the other times that I tried it has been the same thing, a blank black player. I haven't tried it though the Roku though, only through laptops and computers.

I have the same issue unless i pause my anti virus protection. I dont want to have to pause protection every time i want to watch so will just use the CR website, but you could try this to see if it helps you as well.

all i have to say is that VRV still seems to be missing some anime that are on crunchyroll... like onepiece..... and a few others... i counted 23 anime on CR in the "O" section and 21 on VRV in the "O" section.... that annoys me cause i still have to use crunchyroll to see one piece and some others apparently....

Crunchyroll and Funimation premium memberships bring you the vast majority of what's worthwhile on VRV. I only really miss Lastman (waiting an extra week for RWBY is just a minor annoyance.) Going the other way (VRV premium with no Crunchyroll or Funimation) and you'll find random content missing. The site itself is also inferior compared to Crunchyroll and Funimation (and I already find Funimation's site noticeably inferior to Crunchyroll's).

Not even going to try to evaluate them in terms of reliability. Crunchyroll has the occasional outage, as everyone knows, and it looks like VRV has completely exited the Internet.

After trying the VRV App, the subtitles kept changing size during viewings. Every few sentences it would go large small so on. This made for a very off putting experience in general. The apps also poorly organized! I mean anime should be in ONE anime area period! The rest should be separated areas and easy to search. The apps currently not user friendly and the layout is not phone suitable right now. So till the app gets remade into a more user friendly and bug free experience.

Site on October 7th refused to load unless javascript from http://connect.facebook.net is allowed to load, but that's no longer a requirement, so looks like they are improving?

Their search is terrible like Netflix: if they don't have what you want, they will give you false positive search results for things you didn't even want.

like if I try to search for legend of condor heroes:

https://vrv.co/?q=condor
https://i.imgur.com/71Wx140.png

It shows me results like:
* C - Control
* Nobunaga Concerto
* Myriad Colors Phantom World

^_^;; none of those have the world Condor in them.

If i want to search for Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu by typing "Guu" as my search term, I get
https://vrv.co/?q=guu
https://i.imgur.com/xipXc28.png

* Mobile Suit Gundam
* Gundarr
* Gurren Lagann
* Magical Circle Guru-Guru
* Gugure! Kokuri-san
* Mobile Suit Gundam Wing

^_^;; none of those have "guu" in them.

It's funny because the page flashes the result for a split second:
"That didn't return any results.
Try searching for something different."

But then shows the stuff I wasn't looking for.

Maybe a button could load that stuff if I click it, but auto-loading it is a bit obnoxious (like Netflix).

Personally to me they push big name shows but if you know exactly what your looking for thou can find it after about 10 minutes of searching. Now for the Linked Crunchyroll to VRV subscribtion you can still watch Crunchyroll on the regular Crunchyroll app Ik this because me and my girlfriend share the same account and I got mad when she’ll watch the same show I’m watching and I loose my progress when she watches 8 episodes ahead but with me using VRV and her using Crunchyroll we can keep track of our own viewing on the same account but 2 different apps do the watch time doesn’t carry over. Now I’m wondering if I can earn trophies for Crunchyroll on the VRV app?

I've been using VRV for a few weeks now and it was working just fine until last Friday. I tried watching the latest dubbed episode of Recovery of an MMO Junkie but the video had trouble getting started. Usually the video player shows up right away and tells me it's loading before it starts to play, but ever since Friday it takes too long to appear. Instead of the player I just see a black rectangle that's completely unresponsive to anything I do, but I can still hear the video beginning to play anyway. It seems like it takes about 15 - 20 seconds into the video for the player to show up, and the two times I tried scrolling back to the very beginning it caused the video to quit loading like 6 seconds in.

Another problem is that VRV has stopped keeping track of what I've watched. This first kind of started earlier last week when, after watching a few episodes of Fairy Tail, I noticed that VRV said I still had about 5 minutes left on one. That kinda stuff really bugs me so I watched what was left to straighten it out, twice. VRV still says I haven't finished that episode, and it looks like it's completely stopped tracking everything I watch now. I watched an episode each of Recovery of an MMO Junkie and The Ancient Magus' Bride, both on different days with both giving me the same loading issues with VRV not knowing that I'd watched either of them.

Since all these titles are from FUNimation (all dubs) I decided to watch something else just in case. I tried watching RiffTrax: Samurai Cop on Sunday with the same loading issues as the previous titles, and I'm also experiencing a lot of hiccups in buffering with this one as well, hence why I haven't finished it yet. That last one might just be an issue with my (admittedly not great) Internet service but nothing else I stream is having that problem, and the last title I was able to watch issue-free on VRV was another RiffTrax episode, so I don't know.

I'm using Firefox Quantum by the way and it actually has it's own slight issue with VRV as well, although not at all a deal-breaker. When watching anything in fullscreen that little address bar that shows up in the bottom left-hand corner of the browser to tell you when data's being transferred keeps popping up every 20 - 30 seconds. The previous version of Firefox didn't have this happen and while it's barely a problem, I'd still like to fix it if anyone knows how. It only happens on VRV, not on Crunchyroll, not on YouTube, just VRV.

Like I said before, VRV was working fine for me since I signed up a few weeks ago and I really enjoy what shows it offers, so I'd hate to cancel my subscription. But obviously I need to be able to actually watch those shows and lately I just can't, and VRV's own help/FAQs are useless. Can anyone help me?

EDIT
So it's been 4 days since I left this comment and a full week since VRV started screwing up on me, but still no change. I just told VRV my grievances in a survey they sent me, so maybe that'll get something done. I've been checking both Crunchyroll and VRV every day to see if some one will answer me or the the problems will solve themselves, but nothing's happened yet. I don't see anyone else complaining about the same things I am so maybe it's just me. That's fine, and maybe it's somehow my fault, but I still need some help fixing it. And if there's a better place than this to ask then please point me to it.

What device are you watching on? I'm having a similar problem with my android tablet, but it isn't quite the same as yours. When I try to start an episode, it briefly starts the player, but then without it actually starting the video, it dumps me back to the main screen you get when you start the app. Can't play anything at all... It started about the time they added the download option in to the app. Which, that doesn't work for me now, either. It does download, but then plays the raw video with no subtitles...

I'm using a laptop with Windows 10, which worked fine for about 3 weeks.

When did they add the download option you're talking about? Were you able to use the app without issues before that?

On or about Nov 20th. I had installed the existing VRV app onto my android tablet several days before that, because someone in Reddit reported the download option released, but that was apparently not available to everyone at the same time.

Before the download option came out, I had been able to play several episodes streaming online just fine with that prior revision. Then when the app updated with the download option, maybe 3-4 days later, I tried it out.

The first time, it gave me an error that said "unfortunately, vrv has stopped working", but it sill completed the download. That very first episode played subs just fine. I Think I tried two different shows just to make sure. I remember it being strange, I downloaded two episodes of one series first, and they showed as individual episodes in the area to play them. The next episode from a different show caused a show-level hierarchy to appear, I now have to click the show first before seeing the episodes, even if there's only one.

But the next time I tried (several days later), there were no subs playing for the downloads. That's when I went back to try to stream online, and that had stopped working completely. I cleared data, uninstalled/reinstalled, shut down and restarted, but nothing works now...

CR android app still is working just fine on the same tablet. I just hope they don't mess that up when they bring downloads to it, too. Good thing I didn't switch to VRV, or I'd be upset.

Maybe I shouldn't say this, but I would actually pay for VRV solely to get that offline viewing feature, if on trial it worked with my mobile devices. Guess for now I'll wait for it to come to CR.

I'm shocked and thrilled that this is happening so soon after it was promised. Hashtag gamechanger.

Well I did switch to VRV and I am upset. I just found their feedback email and sent them my list of complaints (again) so maybe that'll get somewhere. I also mentioned that the Android app was having problems, so if they respond I might get an answer for that too.

I'd really rather not get rid of VRV and go back to just Crunchyroll since I really like the extra content.

Any possibility of a Fire TV app anytime soon? I can’t see how having VRV would help me if I can’t watch on a television.

I just wish Crunchyroll would STOP trying to shove VRV down my throat. Every chance it gets, "Oh, you can use VRV!" "Our servers are down because we suck psych LOL we just want you to use VRV" How about no! I never had a connection error when using CR until they put out VRV.

I completely agree. I won't subscribe to Crunchyroll again because of the quality issues and I won't try VRV until they add a Fire TV app. Hopefully they add one soon.
