Sucks for people like myself who already paid in full for a year of Crunchyroll now doesn't it? Would not be fiscally responsible to then add a sub to this bloated bureaucratic nonsense.

If I could get a refund on Crunchyroll, then I would gladly sign up for this. I somehow doubt that will ever be an option however.

Then again, was I not a Crunchyroll subscriber, this would be the greatest thing ever.

F me.

So should I cancel my subscription to crunchyroll and funimation and just get VRV? Or wait until I can link my premiums with the VRV

Do the VRV channels of Crunchy and Funi have all the same anime shows as each respective service does

TLDR version of the post (with some extra stuff they did not tell you)

Computer and Tables are not supported right now but will be supported later (not sure why they did not start with computers / all mobile in the first place) VRV does work on phones, PS4/xbox if you are in the US right now

You get CR and Funimation (with dub and sub versions) plus a ton of different channels for $9.99 a month

None of the channels are limited on VRV meaning you get the full library of each channel you can check this by downloading the VRV app on your phone NOT tablet (not everything has been uploaded to VRV yet so give it some time to get the full library) also you can mostly watch everything on there with out a subscription but it will play alot of ads

You can link an already existing account to VRV meaning that you can log in with your CR account and CR content with out ads(if you have a CR premiom account) this will also work backwards meaning that you can log onto CR with your VRV account and watch CR ad free

Some things you wont see on the post is that they have talked about making exclusive content on VRV and they are still adding channels like College Humor.

Going to VRV is like going to a site that all of the sites in them meaning that you will find a CR version of an anime and a Funimation one to

Go to vrv.co (no its not vrv.com) for more information

My favorite part about VRV is that it might be a better app/website to watch Funimation on

Not interested, If they really want to help me out, make all the main-stream anime transfer to Crunchyroll. Anime like One Punch Man, All Dragonball series, Sailor Moon (90's version) etc... I'm not interested in games or Youtube series. Thanks though, I will not be paying for that.

If they really want to improve their quality towards Crunchyroll members, they could finally start adding subtitles to the opening and ending themes. I would really appreciate that more than this VRV thingy....

Cool, I'll just go watch this on my Fire TV... oh, wait, that's right, I probably won't be able to, ever. People have been asking for CruncyRoll on Fire TV for years, and there has been no response. I have to keep my old Gen3 Apple TV connected just for CR. I highly doubt they are going to suddenly have better device support for VRV, which makes me really sad. I hope they prove me wrong as I really like what they are proposing.

Honestly, not being able to watch on PC is the deal breaker for me. I work with PC's, game with PC's and study on my PC. If I need another device to watch these, it kind of loses it's worth. What I care for is CR, Funimation, Seeso and G&S, all of which I can watch at my PC currently. This feels like a step back for that.
Though, for all the channels, I'd be willing to pay more than $9.99 for the combo pack if it had a PC friendly player, whether in the form of an app or via browser.

That seems to be one of the biggest complaints along with linking people already subscribed no mention of the HTML.5 player either on this plan.

Not very well thought out at all ! To be honest I think its CR in a panic because of the Amazon Strike service that was just rolled out

People werent happy there either to pay extra for anime when they already had Amazon Prime !

Thes corporations are going to have backlash if they take advantage of subscribers!

This seems almost too good to be true. Is that really all of RoosterTeeth First and all those other channels for only $10 a month?

Anime opening/ending themes rights (almost always) belong to entirely different licensors and have different requirements and costs; CR cannot just say "give us the OP/ED theme translation rights". Oftentimes, it's too cost prohibitive, time-consuming and complex, or the rights holder for the songs will just flat-out refuse.

Question Lootcrate is teamed up with Crunchyroll. If you are a premium member and you switch the VRV account can you use that with Lootcrate to get the discount.

this is very intriguing, though, i am going to wait and see what this does before anything because i have a paid sub. to 2 of these services already. so if, then when they figure out some sort of account linking, ill give this a shot.

Hi!

VRV brand steward Alexa Ray here.

You can watch VRV for free with ads, or you can sign up for premium access for an ad-free viewing experience and first access to shows. If you link your Crunchyroll account, you will only be able to watch Crunchyroll without ads on VRV--in order to get all channels ad-free you will need to subscribe to VRV. But if you subscribe to VRV, then you can link back to Crunchyroll and only have to pay for one thing--VRV--to use two things--VRV and Crunchyroll proper. Make sense?
