Back when I was a wee lad and MySpace/Xanga was still a thing (2007). CR was cool because no one knew about it and it was the only place to spam your friends' guestbook while still watching Naruto/Bleach. Oh! And there were hella fansubs on the site lmao

Hmmm I have only been on crunchyroll since late 2014. So going on 2 almost 3 years of being on here lol. Anyway what made me join was that when I was in university I learned a lot about copyright and realized watching anime on all those sites that should never be named/mentioned was 100% wrong of me and looked up legal anime sites. I discovered this place and started watching all my anime here but these days I am mostly just using the forums instead of actually watching anime in all honesty. (I still do watch anime from time to time but rarely lol)

I liked it because of all the anime it had back then, when it was still an illegal site. I personal got out of anime, mainly because of life, but then I got back in it. What brought me back, besides a renewed appreciation for anime, is the PS4/Xbox app so I can watch it on my TV, instead of my laptop.

I had been an on and off customer for a couple years but went permanent when they started getting more and more titles for each season ad-free (I used Hulu exclusively for the anime for like three years), and I found myself loving the community here.

Had a Premium account for about 6 months or so, which is about when I created this account period. It was really the first time I'd thought about CR since back in... ~2008 or so? They'd just gone legit back then, IIRC, but I was a cheap adolescent with no money and limited morals so I kinda shrugged them off as "not as good as the other sites". Stuff happened for about 7-8 years, stopped watching anime as a result.. Then I got back into anime and all of a sudden I have this magical thing called a "bank account". I resolved to support the community as much as I could (screw licensing laws and their implications for non-US citizens ;-; ) and picked up a CR membership.

Haven't yet won my heart as such (talk about overly dramatic, OP :p), and I can't say that they will. I do, though, praise them as the best legal anime-dedicated site around. Best of... two, I believe? What an accolade. But yeah, the service is more than good enough for me, and I don't exactly plan on leaving any time soon. I've got anime to catch up on.

Last week, mostly because of the amount of anime that you can watch on it I guess.

I made my account at the end of 2012 cause I wanted to watch high quality anime and I got an email from Comcast saying they were going to shut off my internet if I keep downloading stuff illegally, so I decided to be legit from then on.

So I guess getting almost in trouble helped me on the correct path. I love this site and I haven't left since.

Wow, a decent thread for once. Usually I just see clickbait threads.

I first used Crunchyroll I believe to watch Attack on Titan a few years ago when it first came out here. I never subscribed however until long after that. Hunter x Hunter is one of my favorite series ever, and they have that here. I watched through One Piece, enjoying it (though I'm likely to wait a while before continuing given the brutally slow pacing). I then stopped subscribing again until a few months ago.

At which point, they had added fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood - another of my favorites. All they are missing is Hellsing: Ultimate, and my favorites would all be here. That, and the original Dragonball Z or Kai rather than just Dragonball Super, but oh well.

Cowboy bebop and Code Geass would also be nice.

Still, this site has a better anime selection than most. The comments are also good to see, and always keep me a bit more engaged in keeping up with new videos.

Forgot to mention Gintama, and Fate:Zero. There are always more shows here you can find that are great.

I've been using Crunchyroll for years right after they got Naruto: Shippuuden and went legit. Then, they got Bleach. I was excited that simulcast anime was finally being legitimized. Since then, lots of great simulcast shows and choices. I made an account a long time ago, but didn't have a reason to log in since I was able to watch anyway.

I'd subscribe, but can't really afford it. Besides, my bandwidth has a cap and HD quality would hit it faster. Comcast's cap reversed that from a selling point to fatal flaw. If I had the income I'd subscribe even with that. Maybe in the future.

Funimation was hit or miss for years. Their players were a bit buggy. I was never a fan of dubs, either. Some shows had limited episodes. Some shows were only clips or previews, but still listed in their library. It came across as a bit dishonest. I kept noticing translation errors. I finally stopped going when they forced the Hulu player exclusively. If there was a problem, it would start from the beginning. If near the end, it meant rewatching the same ad 6-8 times. I haven't been back since 2013, or so.

I also tried the niconico.com beta for Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-. Their player was awesome. I think it only had HD, but it was a bit before HD was popular here in America. Viewers could leave time-based comments during an episode, like annotations. When something happened in an episode, there'd be a flood of exclamations. There was a chat group feature. Lots of text effects. It was a really interactive way to watch but also a bit distracting.

I originally started off with basic back in July 2013. I found it to be cheaper to purchase a premium. I started watching anime in 2013. I did not even know what anime was. I was introduced to anime during the batsman movie. Before the movie started my friend was talking to another friend about anime. I dipped in the conversation and that is when I was told to watch fairy tails. I started watching fairy tail on Netflix but they didn't have all the episodes. I began to search for anime on the internet so I could finish watching fairy tails. Well I found a site and got a virus on my laptop. I continued to search for a site that's when CR popped up on the search engine. I have been a fan of anime since then. My next anime that I watched was hunter x Hunter and reborn. I have been introducing anime to all that will listen. I have also been to 4 cons

I use Crunchyroll for its lesser abuse of power and less frequent hacking since I created an account on the middle of the year 2016. Crunchyroll has more tolerance of constructive opinions especially when compared to MyAnimeList where a user will get banned for clarifying the lies and resolving the conflicts caused by the mainstream Republicans. The current legal status of Crunchyroll will also make it preferable.

I made this account back when this site was an illegally streaming anime so I can watch Futakoi and Toradora. Eventually, some people added me and I had my first online friends here (this was the first social network site I joined) and found a really good friend here too who is still my friend. Needless to say, I love this more for the friends I was able to make (many are inactive now), the forums, and the fun of editing my profile page (which I hadn't done in years though) than the anime.
