Yup. The "Trouble Sleeping" episode made me burst out laughing.

Yeah, some freaking hilarious anime like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun or Nichijou had me laughing out loud every single episode.

If watching a comedy anime doesn't make one laugh out loud, what's the point of watching it?

Yep, and sometimes it's obnoxious - especially with a group.

LOL!

Of course I do. I just recently got caught up with Nanbaka and I was laughing my ass off. Granted there were a couple of episodes near the end of season one that got a bit heavy (no spoilers) but the rest of the series was goofball funny. It was just what I needed.

When a show is genuinely funny I can't help but LOL.....the other series that had my falling out of my seat was Assassination Classroom. There were some serious beats to that one too but overall that show is one of my faves. On the other hand I watched an episode of Shimoneta and hated it because it was so 'non-funny"

And when an anime gets sad, I'll certainly cry and have to a lot of shows. Sometimes you can't help but get emotional over these things. Yuri On Ice had me crying at many points, sometimes out of sadness but also joy because of how wonderful the story was and the characters.

Like any other piece of entertainment out there: movies, books, even anime, if the story is emotional and you relate to it on some level, it's certainly fine to show that emotion. Anime shows and films are just like any stories and we can't help but become lost in them especially when the story is great.

LOL
I think Nanbaka is my new go-to when I need a really good laugh. I just sit back and say: "Okay, what trouble will those guys get into this week?" But after just getting caught up with season one I think the crap going to hit the fan soon.....

Not a lot, but there are a few shows that can get me. Gintama, Konosuba, and Daily Lives of High School Boys are the only ones that I can think of right now. Konosuba 2 episode 2 was the last one I actually laughed at.
