So, is it really disrespectful to use your parent's first name instead of calling them "mom" or "dad"? I'm talking about people who are adults not really teenagers or younger children. What do you think?

Bonus Question:

1. Is it strange to call your parents cute and adorable especially if they're good parents?

My aunt calls my grandparents by their first name often and it gets me pretty mad on the inside. I find it absurd.

Yes

No. I call my mom by her first name all the time. I mean she rarely ever responds to mom. I can say mom like 10 times and she won't even budge, but as soon as I call her by her first name she looks my way.

Don't get me wrong though, once I have her attention I call her mom again and she's all ears. I guess I just have to get her attention first.

But-but I call my mommy "cute" all the time. Although, she does give me a look.

Yes and no, I'm sure it differs to each family and area. My parents have passed but never once did I address them other than mom and dad. I don't think they would have cared though either way. I've noticed that most stepparents seem to be an exception though.

Yes, I do think it is disrespectful. From what I've seen calling one's parent(s) by their given names usually makes them pretty upset anyways, so why do it at all?

BQ: Also disrespectful. Those are words I reserve for children and animals, not my parents. They're people who definitely wouldn't respond well to being called adorable or cute. They'd probably say something like 'Knock that crap off. We're too old for that shit.' :'D

I personally think it's disrespectful. My mom would slap the shit out of me.. who knows what my dad would do, probably attempt to kill me, knowing him lmao.

I personally think it's weird and disrespectful. I mean if your sending a letter to your parents for the address well then yeah lol, but I wouldn't directly call them by their first name.
And for the bonus question: Well yeah I kinda do it sometimes, not like "aw your so cute and adorable!" but a bit different than that. Like less direct. Kinda hard to explain.
