Dress 'em up nice with Salvation Army, Christian Foundation, or sibling's clothes and then position them on a long sweeping curve in the center of a railroad track frequently used. Ideal situation is preferably heavily wooded both sides so crew doesn't see object until 20 yards away. Locomotive camera should catch all the action. Suggest day time for greatest visual effect and least psycho effect on train crew . Do not hang around to watch as cameras are on board nowadays. Scenario is funnier imagined than viewed. If it's in daylight most crews will figure it out before impact.

I had a friend who used to get rid of his large appliances this way but rather than stage the hit at ground level on a curve of a Class 1 railroad he preferred using an isolated county railroad overpass bridge. The idea was to tow your unwanted refrigerator, washer, dryer in your pickup bed in dark of night and park on the bridge over the railway just after the lead locomotive has gone by. This scenario works best on either loaded or unloaded coal trains as their length (135 cars +/- a few) allows time to activate the "re-distribution of wealth to those less fortunate" plan. 99% of the time the bulky item will rest either in an empty hopper car or on top of the pile of coal resting in the rail car.

I guess I was never blessed with the agility to think big like that. I always hauled this kind of crap off to a local scrapper or junkyard and paid accordingly to be rid of it. My entrepreneurial space management friend, on the other hand, redirected his treasures to third parties be it Memphis or Kansas City via the BNSF. Thinkin' outside the box.......

I just use them for target practice, it's handy to practice on a human shaped and sized target from time to time. It improves marksmanship far more then those lame AR500 targets at the range.

Furniture; specifically a decorative rug.

That's a rug with some real texture.
