I do wish some shows were longer as some have so much potential which can't be fully developed in 12-13 episodes

12-26 seems about perfect to tell most stories. I won't even bother if something has tons of seasons, most of those are shounen anyway so I don't really care.

50 Episodes might be a push, but we are starting to see popular shows at least get a second season quite quickly to take them uto 24 or so.

Shows like KonoSuba and NewGame got a 2nd season announcement quite quickly, In a way if they are basing the "who gets another season" on popularity rather than just plan a show to run for 24 or 48 or 50 episodes, I think the new method is better.

We are getting extensions of the shows we (I know not 100% of anime fans are included) want, rather than the shows that are running to a year long schedule.

I do know that some good shows will end up only running to 12 or 13 eps, but as long as I happy with the story thats been told I can always look for light novels or manga.

Dragon Maid better get a second season, thats a show that I could watch 50 episodes of, as long as they are as good as the ones we have had already!

Finally getting around to watching that and it's a damn fine show, I must say.

as long as the story and characters can be developed in 12-13 episodes, I don't care. longer series don't do anything for me and often can feel unnecessarily drawn out, stale, and boring. 24-26 eps is usually the sweet spot, since it gives a decent enough length for substantial character development and a more complex and interesting story, with some exceptions.

what I really hate is when series can't get enough funding to do a proper length adaptation and the ending just gets rushed. great example is Hitsugi no Chaika that ran 22 episodes across 2 seasons, and it could have really benefit from those extra 2 episodes to have a proper ending.

50 were ok. I really thought most shows nailed it around 25ish.

Currently, I do feel 12-13 is to short. Some times it feels like the story has just hit its stride, or that we are finnally about to see them at there best. Then it ends.

Other times, you get to episode 9 or 10 and then all of a suddent SURPRISE PLOT! Look at this, over here! This is really whats important! and now we are done! (meaning the story takes a sharp turn just to get an ending)

I wish, espeically with light novels that do have the source material already, that we could get at least planned 24 episodes or so.

As long as they have a complete ending I am fine with it. I hate it when they have a semi-ending and it's obvious the story was just getting started.

I like shows that end, myself.

the longer a show is, the less chance I will rewatch.

All of that said, though, I hope Jojo is fully adapted, and i hope one day Battle Angel gets a full adaptation too.

Most of the anime in my queue are only 1-2 seasons and it feels like they will never get completed. I'm starting to hate watching new animes that will just leave you hanging and never get a proper ending. You put so much time watching and enjoying yourself and it feels horrible just being left hanging there wondering what will happen and if you will ever find out what happend.
