Let me help you out here: When I said not clear enough I was referring to the fact that even though some people realize this is all political theatre there are a significant number of people who don't. Despite how "obvious" it should be. There are people who still swallow this political theatre bullshit and believe what their politicians tell them without question.

Thus in your attempt at a counterpoint you not only misunderstood the conversation but you actually proved the point I was making.

So before you go taking a victory lap you might want to make sure you're actually on the same race track as the rest of us first.

I'm surprised they haven't effectively renamed the ACA to something like "Citizen Care Act" with some vague remarks about illegals, made a few concessions to corporate overlords, finally accept the expansions that were intended in the first place they withheld to sabotage themselves, and after scream success.

It'd be the simplest way for them to backtrack and attempt to save face.

Its a political theatre where you have been given the script in advance. They just didn't expect to have a director that wasn't cutting g any of the script out. They all however thought the script was good but never acted it out entirely so now they are doing impromptu with certain parts. The director likes the general theme and is directing them to work with him to make a good script great.

You can jump race tracks all you want but your not fooling anyone.

Seriously, dude, what are you even talking about? I just explained what I was talking about but that apparently hasn't deterred you from the misunderstanding you made from the get go. If you just want to argue with what you imagine people are saying there's no need to post. You can do that by yourself without cluttering up the forum.

I was thinking the same thing. What even is that post trying to respond to?

i dont quite understand the position of people in this thread... *looking at you runec*

or rather - your position is pretty clear but seriously...

So yes - there was the whole democrat leak debacle.

Republicans thought it was good - dems clearly werent happy.

but let me ask you - are they now supposed to say "We welcome any and all leaks, please come do whatever you want we will be super chill about it" its not hypocritical to condemn a leak - they would HAVE to condemn it to the media.. that does make sense - doesnt it?

You cant just go accepting things like this publicly... or can only people without points to prove see that?

I don't think the problem is so much that Republicans are condemning this leak but moreso that they shouldn't have publicly condoned past Democrat related leaks. If you try to play the moral high ground by saying "We think leaks are good because they bring transparency to government" and then turn around and say "Oh, but when your leak is related to us that is bad", you can't really hold that high ground.

They're not suppose to welcome it, no. But they could have taken the advice of some of their own to not use it as a political attack to begin with because it would only be a matter of time before it swung the other way. Thus avoiding coming across as hypocrites. They also could have avoided the private/public debacle by simply condemning this leak without making said comment.

There are wiser heads ( not many, granted ) in the GOP still. But they were ignored during the campaign. They're still being ignored now during this Muslim ban fiasco.

thats the way politics work! if you dont capitalise on everything your opponent does you might not sway that one voter that makes a difference.

its not the ideal situation - it would be great if it wasnt this schoolyard fight that does nothing but seem petty but it is what it is.

They don't get a pass for their bullshit because "its politics". That isn't an excuse.

This is quite literally pathetic. You are acting like they have done something heinous instead of just said "this leak is unacceptable". Im out.

That's harsh... So was the point of the thread to really just compare the acts of republicans to democrats? I mean it's kind of petty.
