I've always hated starbucks. So I really don't care if they lose business or not. Their coffee sucks and so does everything else.

I don't really go to Starbucks a lot. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but I get $5 coupons (on bing if you guys are interested)

the only thing I ever get is the vanilla bean frappuccino lol

I've recently heard the other side to this, that people were going to visit more frequently due to these reasons.

Boycotts never work

Exactly. It's mostly in part due to the fact that there aren't enough people to boycott that would actually impact the majority of these businesses' bottom lines. While you may strip some assets from them, you won't necessarily take them out. Nowadays, there's a "cause of the day" where there's a boycott for a few months for any minor issue - after we move onto another social issue that concerns us, the former boycott is forgotten entirely.

On Topic:

Starbucks to Hire 10,000 Veterans and Military Spouses by 2018

When people criticized Starbucks for prioritizing refugees over veterans or citizens, this ended up being their official statement. Long story short, Starbucks just disagrees with the Executive Order that Trump has written but wants to support both refugees and Americans (veterans especially) alike. lol...

As mentioned before, whether they actually go through with either of these two things is another thing altogether. These are just their "stances" and official statements thus far.

I've been boycotting Starbucks for a while, because of their overpriced coffee made with burnt coffee beans.

My personal boycott list includes companies who mistreat their employees, copyright trolls, and anti-competitive practices...

Someone just pledged to hire more people!? OMG, RETURN THEM TO SATAN'S ASSHOLE FROM WHENCE THEY CAME!

Meh, as other people said boycotts rarely (if ever) work. I myself have only personally boycotted two companies in my life (Capcom and Chic-fi-la) and I did so more out of personal pride than actually believing that it would make a difference. As for Starbucks, I couldn't boycott that even if I wanted to. Why? Because I don't drink coffee anyways.

As for sending American soldiers Starbucks coffee, isn't that a violation of the Geneva convention? i don't know how anyone can drink their crap.

Heh, friend of mine that served in Afghanistan with the UK use to talk about them and the yanks trying to find reasons to stop in on Canada's base in Kandahar because it had a Tim Horton's.

Chic-fi-la is booming after their boycott ...sure Starbucks will as well; boycotts rarely ever work. Well, I don't buy from either, though i would like a chicken sandwich.

People who get all crazy over Starbucks needs to make themselves familiar with the alternative to this anime.

On a more serious note. I feel bad for the current non refugee employees working at Starbucks. All the racist customers that come in and buy a coffee are going to get all up themselves and giving them crap over this. Some probably won't even buy anything, just giving their worthless 2 cents. Now, I don't go to Starbucks simply because their coffee tastes like watered down poo, but I still feel bad for the poor employees just getting their start in employment having to cop this shitstorm.
