What do you want the Pope to do, tear down century old walls?

The Pope's wall--leaving aside security, given the number of people who actually have tried to shoot his predecessors--is to establish the Vatican City as an independent internationally non-partisan political state, and not technically Part of Rome, Italy.

It's not meant to keep nasty Italian rapists and murders from attacking our poor nuns and taking jobs away from our working Cardinals...No, seriously, we love our Roman citizens, some of them are good people, and I love Italian food, so it's all good! We do it with love (and Christian charity)!

So why do so many people think at least ponder the Latin American pontiff is the Antichrist at least the end-time False Prophet mentioned in Revelation 19:20.. It could be for some of the same reasons his popularity is declining. His approval rating in the United States has dropped from 76 percent a year ago to 56 percent today..

Like the quality of a metaphor denounces its identity as a metaphor.

A facepalmtree. Thats when you need to facepalm so hard only hitting your face against a palmtree will be enough.

Well, this isn't a face palm tree, but it's certainly bigger than the normal face palm.

No, it's the same Michael Moore Factor as the Starbucks boycott:
"Be vewy, vewy quiet, we're shooting messengers!...Hahahaha."

Ie., because it's easier to blame a big company or spoiled public/celebrity figure than to take on a protest movement they publicly happened to support, anyone who says anything mean about Trump, or adopts any corporate policy sympathetic of the idea that it's wrong to let him do whatever he wants to, is a MEANIE! And WRONG! And a TRAITOR who's CAUSING all that national protest that keeps us from Supporting Our Chief Executive, all by himself! Let's get 'im, and then it'll stop!
Once the public sees that traitor for the hypocritical fraud that he is, we'll see this "protest" nonsense die down soon enough!

Eh, maybe the "Six Michael-Moore-is-evil documentaries to counter Fahrenheit 9/11" reference is a little too dated from the early 00's.

Keeping it more up to date, how about calling it "J. Jonah Jameson Syndrome"?
Once we make the city see that wall-crawling do-gooder in the funny hat for the public menace that he really is!

I've seen the same "Good, go pal around with your Syrian/Hillary-loving/riot-smashing protestor friends" rejoinder every time folks express disagreement with Trump's policies, apparently believing that anyone who disagrees with him is a nasty fifth-columnist In League With His Vile, Scheming Internationally-Organized Enemies.

Apparently, this is adopting the new strategy of "Geez, if you love (the Pope) so much, why don'tcha MARRY him?.."
(Because of the strict Celibacy rule, that's why...)
