Hello I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this but I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions on different types of animes to watch. I've never really been hardcore into it and the only ones that have really caught my interest for a period of time were ones like Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Bleach, Berserk, and Durarara!!.

I generally like darker shows with some black humor thrown into but if you guys could throw some suggestions my way that would be greatly appreciated, trying to get more into anime.

Again, thank you.

It's not like this ones you mentioned so I think you'll like the change of pace.

Well not sure about "Black Humor" as that sounds like a super niche market. However here are some suggestions that I would feel classify as dark. If your interested in expanding your horizons. Say the word and I can offer a few.

Parasite the Maxim,
Tokyo Ghoul,
Guilty Crown,
Agame la kill,
Ajin,
Terror in resonance,
Another,
Black rock shooter,
Elfen Lied,
Ergo Proxy
Mirai Nikki (Technically Shounen.. but after a few episodes youll understand how I got "dark")
Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace,
RE:Zero (Technically Shounen.. but after a few episodes youll understand how I got "dark")

I've moved this to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum.

I second the Flowers of Evil recommendation, and I'd recommend Psycho Pass too. It's not got humor but it is dark and thoughtful and also good-looking.

@everyone

Thanks for the ton of suggestions and yeah if you guys had more suggestions to expand my horizons some that would be awesome as well. I'll for sure have to check out Flowers of Evil as well as a few other ones that were mentioned. I also had just started watching Psycho Pass a few nights ago and I have to say it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Be warned that while Psycho Pass is quite good, Psycho Pass 2 isn't all that. (It's watchable, IMO, but has little of the sensibility of Psycho Pass that made it so good.)

ahh also wanted to add "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni " or in english "When they Cry"

To expand your horizons a bit...
#1 Shin sekai yori(ignore the genre tags, not sure how this got labled "horror") Its a bit of psychological paranormal but its well done.
#2 Angel Beats Very well done and makes most peoples list of must see's
#3 Mushi-Shi a bit mellow but good none the less.
#4 Bakemonogatari its very witty, and the art style is memorable. a personal favorite.

Be careful with Elfen Lied. It is ULTRA VIOLENT. I'm not squeamish, but it was a lot, even for me.

I recommend Welcome to the NHK It has a lot of black humour in it and it's an amazing show, albeit a bit depressing.
