I truly mean to generalize, and I truly mean to cause offense, and I acknowledge my huge ego as being a stupid, nubile, young mind who has found his answers without good reasoning, but I have to say...

I believe that most of the adults here, Usually in their last 20s and up, are surprisingly and needlessly stupid.

I know, I, the great PV, have shown his true colors. The fact that I am this self centered must surely be a surprise to you.

I will admit there are a lot of dumb people in their 20s and below, but I expected more from the adults here, I really do.
I admired adults for a long time, but it hasn't occur to me sometime back that with age, comes confidence in ones ability, or rather overconfidence, especially in our perceived rationality and wisdom that is expected with age, and it dawned on me.

To quote Judar's status quote, "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge."

It makes sense, though I hate to just leave a quote here. Using someone else's words is hackneyed and lazy.

I mean, I thought I knew how to draw a functional bicycle on paper, but it has not occurred to me how a bike functions till I actually drew it, or attempted to, because I assume I knew. I didn't do well, suffice to say. In any case, many of us are not open to the possibility that we are wrong, and perhaps the opposing side is right. Maybe transgender mentally ill. Maybe marijuana is as bad as the PSAs suggested. I admit I dismiss things like Pizzagate without a real deep look into it, and I am pretty bigoted too against certain ideas.

Yet no one, on most sides of the debate, do not debate, but they argue, they cajole, they bully, insult, and harass. Honestly? From the recent political threads of yesteryear from Baron Trump's Autism to the recent defamation of Berkeley for having what they hosted and paid for ruined by outside agitators, and I'd say...I am wonderful. I have done a great job of attempting to understand either side. I am a god of logic and wonder. You cretins should appreciate me more, and follow my example.

I am just asking you try to not be idiots. Yes, you know who you are. Don't make me rattle off names. You can do that by assuming there is a side to everything, more than just the evil right wanting to keep people in poverty or I just being a social justice warrior when I clearly demand to be treated with respect in the face of insults.

Or something. Excuse me, I have to get coffee.

It's okay, you can tell me I'm an idiot by name, my heart can take it...

At any rate, debating is becoming something of a lost art. The majority of humans (adult or otherwise) are rather lazy by nature, and properly debating a subject takes work, and research. You also need to intimately understand the opposing views. Which, more often than not, leads you to the uncomfortable realization that things are very seldom as black and white as we'd like them to be.

More than that however, remember where you are. It's far easier to hurl vitriol at some faceless stranger on the internet, people are far less prone to confrontation when speaking face-to-face. At least where I live, perhaps common courtesy is dead elsewhere.

I don't think it's just the subliminal threat of a conflict coming to blows that's absent on the web either. When there is no face, no expression, inflection of voice, etc. it's a lot harder to empathize with whoever you're communicating with. They're not a thinking, feeling human being, but a nebulous cloud of words and ideas that you may find repulsive.

Seriously?

"Debating" Trump and politics on ... Crunchyroll is one thing.

But then complaining about the calibre of replies?

That's hilarious.

Indeed.

In either case, I think the OP is just lonely, needs someone to talk to. Which is fine, I suppose. Best to do that using a chat UI, like Steam or something. Can get "a more intelligent discussion" that way, then to use CR.

Expecting to find high class debates on Crunchyroll is about as likely as finding your future wife on Tinder. Embrace the degenerate cesspit forums.

O-Onee sama.

Marry me.

I was at least expecting adults over 30 to be rational in thought to facts that while not true, if true would justify their response. I thought the bulk of internet stupidity was teenagers and 20 year olds, but I am surprised that the adults here are just as stupid.

That's a rudimentary way of stating my superiority, but I will take it, Monkey worshipper #3215346.

Damn it PV, it's too early to be demoralizing the adults of crunchyroll. Go back to bed, you're freaking some out.
