I guess chibi that I got it from the novels I used to read when i was a child. You see, I used to devour up to a dozen good sized novel during the summer break starting in grade 4.

During that same summer break I read one of my most favourite books 'The Ink Keeper's Apprentice' which I still love today. That book turned me on to the notion of living in Japan.

As for England, I read the whole lot of C.S Lewis, Uther the Pendragon tales which were all situated in Britain, Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby and David Copperfield. Those books, while i didn't quite understand everything, made me imagine my own England which I think I fell in love with.

I suppose all books which had a strong emphasis on a culture foreign to my own which would allow for some romanticization due to the readers usage of imagination.

Yeah I have the whole Shakespeare collection, but to be honest, I just cannot read him for mere entertainment for the life of me. He requires an intellectual reading; you have to know specific context and history, as well as reading the annotations to know what references he is making.

I don't really read on my time off from work and school; books that are intellectual, because I get enough material from universtiy. I would rather read a good fantasy, non-fiction, or sci-fi.
