April 28, 2017 - This isn't a rule change, but we've added a written version of our already long-standing policy regarding comments, especially episode comments, to the Site Rules and Forum Guidelines page, so please be sure to take a look.

TL; DR: Don't post guest pass codes in comments; don't post spoilers from sources outside of the actual episode or previous episodes, even if you put them under a spoiler tag. Full text of the policy is under the spoiler tag:

Anticipated question: Why don't you allow true spoilers, the stuff from manga etc, if it's marked as a spoiler?

Unlike in forum posts, where you can provide context for how much of a spoiler something is or what kind of a spoiler it is, there isn't a way to give an explanatory "heads up" in comments, except by making another comment which could be easily overlooked. When they click the "spoiler" link in comments, folks have no idea if they're going to see something like a remark hinting lightly at a new character that was introduced (or about to be introduced) or an entire summary of all the major things that are going to happen during the season and possibly beyond (AoT spoilers, I'm looking at you )

February changes were:

I like these changes, especially the one about sexual PMs. That's not something that should have to be cracked down on but apparently that's just reality.

People were seriously soliciting for cybering? I guess I should be thankful to be ignorant of it.

Does that mean all these useless threads about Trump supporters and whatnot shouting at each other like school kids will finally cease. Cause that'd would be nice, I sick of all this political bullshit already.

Don't celebrate just yet. We still have another week or so before some of the "usual suspects" (as I call them) get unbanned. The good news is a political discussions section will hopefully appear soonish.

I thought you wanted as many annoying threads as possible? You know, multiple comedy centrals

Not quite. But it does mean we'll be cracking down harder on threads that start as basically just "retweets" of content found elsewhere. Sometimes recent news articles can be a good starting point for discussion, but if someone is using a specific article or set of articles as their starting point, they also need to have something of their own to say to initiate the discussion.

TBH, a better place for many "Trump's official actions as president" discussions would be: /forumtopic-980155/first-hundred-days-of-trump-discussion

That Daily Donald thread was really started to share "news directly from Donald Trump himself." But somehow folks seem to have mostly congregated there for anything Trump-related, and trying to bring it back 100% to its original mission would be a wasted effort.

So, basically, both of those threads are acceptable places for Trump-related conversations.

Believe me I told that to Octo when I said that I wanted the main trump thread to be closed but he loves "satire" a bit too much
