Big news to the gaming community. .

E3 is opening its doors to the consumer for the first time since 1995.

15,000 tickets go on sale to the general public on February 13 on E3’s website https://www.e3expo.com/ .
They won’t come cheap, though. The first 1,000 tickets cost $150 during the early bird period that starts February 13. After that, the remaining 14,000 tickets will be $250 each

E3 is on June 13-14

I have been to E3 many years ago and it was fun and exciting with the new consoles and new games. Seeing all the new technology and concepts.

I remember when Descent was popular and a platform developer was there with something new and big but it didn't caught on becuase we weren't ready for it but it would have worked nowadays.

ps I dont know if there is a thread already, just delete this if there is one already.

Gotta say.. I've only been to E3 twice (both about a decade ago), but I prefer to just watch the reveal videos from the comfort of my home computer. If anyone does manage to snag a ticket, bring food money! Last time I went, I ended up buying (an actually really good) hot dog from a street vendor a few blocks away, but it was still really pricey. Traffic was horrid, but my company had shuttle busses for us.

Still, though.. the noise, the lines, not so fun to me. Of course, smell wise, still better than a lot of anime cons I've been to, and no one had to post signs reminding people to shower...

Yea, I saw this....

But with recently announced CR Expo now... So many reasons to go to that "LA". So little gold....

I was watching the videos of folks running here and there as the door opens

I actually don't remember experiencing those, I guess I was there when E3 was fairly new .

Given how much of the E3 experience can be had online now, and given how E3 itself seems to be dying (or at least changing) I just don't feel the appeal of going to it. As a younger person, I would have killed to be able to attend E3 in person but now I'd rather just watch the conferences/reveals online unless I was already planning to be in that area for some other reason.

Pretty much exactly how I feel now, I felt a flash of excitement when I saw this topic but the price is too much. $150-250 would take a huge chunk out of my gaming wish lists & give me much more over all enjoyment than just going to E3.
