You've committed a horrible crime. Would you rather get the death penalty or life in prison?

trick question life in prison and death penalty have the same outcome with the slight difference that death row inmates tend to live longer than inmates that are in for life

Neither, i would rather kill myself

Death. Whatever it was that I rhetorically did, I would have accepted the consequences beforehand. I don't like the thought of trying to "back out" after the fact. Plus, I can't imagine life in prison as anything less than dreary.

i mean we wouldn't be the ones to pick our sentence. But if we did then I would chose life, then if at any point in time I could just kill myself or start a gang fight and die in the midst of that.

But when you'e a death row inmate a lot of the regular privileges are take away.

Death row inmates are generally isolated from other prisoners, excluded from prison educational and employment programs, and sharply restricted in terms of visitation and exercise, spending as much as 23 hours a day alone in their cells. This raises the question of whether death row prisoners are receiving two distinct punishments: the death sentence itself, and the years of living in conditions tantamount to solitary confinement – a severe form of punishment that may be used only for very limited periods for general-population prisoners.- http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/time-death-row

Life in prison. If I'm not dead; I can fill my time doing other things. I'd probably do a lot of reading.

Death penalty because it ends everything quickly instead of suffering for a long time.
