Over the years the monthly fee of Crunchyroll premium charged me within 3 or 2 free days before expiring, now that I am quitting Crunchyroll I got over 3 months already paid on Crunchyroll. guess that's it. I still remember when you got 1000 cr points per month now since 2 years ago I got none. I guess that's it.

They offer up a wide selection of great anime for only $6.95 per month! What more could you ask for?

-removal of regionlocking

Just so you know, this is virtually impossible for a legal site.

which is a shame, i don't really know how the licensing and that works but i bet that accessibility across all regions should be more profitable overall, for all parts involved. I guess some countries won't permit certain shows and that would pose a problem?

Well, from my understanding, the problem is first of all paying for the rights in every country and going through multiple different licencors for one show. This is often not economically feasible on top of being more time and resources taken from the company. However, the real confounding factor is that licencors hold the licence in certain regions and in many regions, there may be no one who holds the licence. That means there is currently no one who has the means to legally distribute the show in that region, so even if Crunchy was willing to put the time and money into getting a show in every region where it is available, they are still restricted by who has shows where.

It is a shame, but you really cant hold it against them. At the end of the day, Crunchy's costs are passed down to the consumer. Either they can pay for every show that is licensed in Uganda and raise premium costs to pay for it or they can pay for shows that will pay for themselves and keep costs down and most consumers happy. Sure, the Ugandan consumers will be upset, but thats business.

OK thanks for some of your insight, licensing seems quite troublesome indeed

Ya actually. Being able to watch a wide variety of anime for the price of peanuts worldwide (almost)

If that's not customer appreciation. Maybe you should try harder.

Umm, idk about you, but a big bag of peanuts is only around 4 bucks here. And a sack of potatoes is only 1 dollar.

for the cost of 2 bags of lindel chocolate truffle bags, you can watch all the stuff you would actually eat that insane amount of chocolate to:P

(around 7 bucks)

The 1000 point thing is ridiculous. What's point of posting in forums/doing anything if u just can AFK in a sub for 1K? And BTW, u get point for every episode u watch, if u didn't know.

But no matter...

Back when I subscribed in 2013 they only could license like half the number of anime they are now able to.
The price hasn't got up. That says a lot.

I wish region blocking would stop. That sounds cool but impossible sadly :-(

This! Had to cancel my membership since a good number of the good stuff is blocked in my country.

Yes, it says that their userbase has increased substantially over the past few years as anime has become more popular. :p [/devil'sadvocate]

Back to the point at hand, why is this a thread again? (EDIT: To clarify that, what do you seek to gain from posting this?) CR has no obligation to "appreciate" their customers. How many other big name sub services have "appreciated" their customers in the way that you desire? List some examples of this, don't just attack one company like this. It's absurd beyond belief. Further, I for one don't pay for premium just so I can get some cheap tat. I pay so I can watch whatever anime I want, whenever I want, for a low fee that I don't even feel leaving my wallet. If you genuinely can't afford the cost of premium, then don't pay (you can still watch anime without a subscription last I checked, just with some restrictions and ads). I suspect this is only true of those CR users not old enough to earn their own keep, however, considering you own a computer/smartphone/tablet of some kind and a viable internet connection after all.

Also, I like how this is posted at roughly the same time that CR put out a survey asking us British/Irish what we think about their service and the whole region-locking thing. I'd call that appreciation, especially considering how small we are compared to the rest of the world. Yes, we might be one of the bigger consumers if one looks at individual countries , but we're still a drop in the ocean when one considers the size of the entire developed world.

I've been a premium + member for almost 2 years now but never got anything for it but I shouldn't say that because they provide great service and convenience for my anime needs and I get VIP perks in Crunchyroll conventions plus free shipping and discounts in the store and we get anime right after they air in Japan so Crunchyroll being here is enough for me and awesome but it would be cool If they sent a little something like a t-shirt or plushie.
