Video Game-Playing Bride Forcibly Dragged To Altar
Marriage is stressful in its own right. However, the actual process of having a wedding and getting married carries its own challenges and stress. Either you can pay thousands of dollars to a wedding planner to isolate you from that headache or you need to wrestle with the unexpected challenges yourself. Uncle Hugo can’t sit with Cousin Julio because they had a fight on the plane. It is a warmer day than expected and your seven-tiered wedding cake is melting so that it looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. As ridiculous as those examples may seem, they both pale in comparison to one Chinese groom whose bride-to-be was so busy playing video games, he literally had to drag her to the altar.

There is a division among people who watched the video on Chinese social media. Some Weibo users claim that the whole situation was just a stunt. Others believe that it legitimately happened. There is no evidence one way or the other. However, considering one Chinese man died after a 3-day gaming marathon and a Chinese baby died after its doctor refused to stop playing video games, it would not be out of the question that the couple’s unhappy start to married life was real.

I like to think it's real.

Hopefully she gets a divorce soon. Not only does she not sound very ready for marriage, but also sounds like her soon to be hubby don't care for her interests ether.

Granted, I'm not sure about what legal rights Chinese citizens have when it comes to such topics.

One last thing. Gamer grills, never marry a man who isn't interested in gaming! Gamer guys are a dime a dozen, and ya'll are 1 bar (of gold) for 1 grill. Don't sell yourself short, your already in short supply. Might as well milk it for the best man you can. I recommend one who can keep pace with you in one of your favorite multiplayer games without being boring or ultra tryhard.

I'd have to watch the video to make a judgement, but I'd like to think it was staged.

I think the fact that it was filmed makes it somewhat staged. Much less her wearing her wedding dress while playing video games, in what looks like a public setting. They also seem to have taken the time to neatly put the headphones on the monitor?

If that were my bride to be I'd ditch the wedding myself and go play games with her

Staged or not, a refusal of a bride or groom to attend their own wedding, without so much as playing with their intended, does not bode well for marriage life at all. Were I in the shoes of the groom, I would call of the wedding and engagement altogether.
