My friend and I both have internet at 100m/bits a second (about 12 megabytes when downloading) and crunchyroll will often for no apparent reason decide to buffer horribly slow, even at lower quality. At the point where it plays for a fraction of a second, then pauses for a fraction of a second, then plays again. Or more usually, simply stops playing at all for 5+ minutes. Reloading the page usually fixes that one.

It will sometimes, however play many episodes in a row with no stopping at all.

At our internet speeds, this is the only streaming service we use that ever lags, and it lags and stops for minutes at a time. Does anybody else have this issue? Are there any solutions?

PS. Nobody else uses the internet at either of our houses.

I've realized this was posted in the wrong help section, if a mod could please change this, it would be appreciated. I apologize for the inconvenience. Intended would be PC/Mac/Linux, I'm guessing.

Some things you might try, no promises, though:

This could just be a coincidence, but it's kind of stupid if it isn't...

It was loading badly on CHROME. But on PS4 and Edge, it loads better...is this a chrome issue?

The PS4 streams (and all device streams) come from a different CDN than the Flash streams for web browsers.

I've been using Edge instead of Chrome to view CR because I also found it seemed to work better.

Would like to add from a PS4 perspective that I get quality changes and zoomed in subtitles which I thought was because I only had 4 down but I've since upgraded to 40 down and still experience the same random change in quality/zoomed in subtitles.

Also when trying to post I got this error "Error in form, no name given!" which made me have to retype my reply.

The change in subtitles is from the adaptive streaming lowering the playback quality automatically in order to match your end-to-end connection with CR's CDN servers.

So is it on my end or Crunchy's end that is the problem? My ping/latency is on the top end, 40 down is way more then enough to stream 1080p also have 10up, pinging Crunchy's website gives me time=18-30ms with 0% packet loss.

This very question gets to the heart of the matter. There is more than simply "my end" and "Crunchy's end" to an internet connection, as the traceroute you posted clearly illustrates.

You traced to the CR webservers, not one of their CDNs. That won't tell you much about how your streaming performance.

This has been a rugular ongoing problem 9 For at least a week if not more even Fire FOX so it's not just a Chrome issue

It is MON 2/ 14 8PM EST / 5 PM PST and the webisite is slow and clunky ! This has been over a week . I got the standars reply letter !

This is just the website !

BTW it did when I had a paid sub / ome of the reasons I stopped ! And as always the only website that does this to me!

All the regulat help things are done / changed my DNS setting / do a DNS FLUSH besides Flash Player cleanup Hiistory cleanup etc.
