Grammar

X wa Y desu.

Watashi Wa Shunji Desu. I am Shunji.
Watashi Wa Amerika-Jin Desu. I am American.
Senmon Wa Nihongo Desu. My Major is the Japanese Language.
Shumi Wa Hon Desu. My hobby is reading.

Notice what they all have in common? Wa & Desu Right?

Japanese sentences are not very hard to make. You just need to memorize a lot of Japanese words. ^.^



If you can't figure out the Japanese words ... Go to basic vocabulary to learn ^.^
Introducing Yourself Fill in the blanks

Hajimemashite ( Say it only when you meet the person for the first time.)
Watashi Wa ________ desu. (Name)
Watashi Wa ________-Jin Desu. (Nationality)
Watashi Wa ________ desu. (Occupation) If your a college student you can say
Watashi Wa ________daigaku no gakusei desu.
Watashi Wa ______Nensei desu. (Year in school) Options are : Ichi, Ni, San, Yo is an exception. It's not Yon
Watashi Wa ______ Kara Kimashita. ( Where do you come from?)
Senmon Wa _______ desu. (Major)

Example:
Hajimemashite.
Watashi Wa Shunji Desu.
Watashi Wa AmerikaJin Desu.
Watashi Wa Bengoshi Desu.
Watashi Wa Guwamu Daigaku no Gakusei desu.
Watashi wa Ichinensei desu.
Watashi Wa Guwamu Kara Kimashita.
Senmon wa Konpyuuta desu.

If you want to shorten it you can delete the Watashi Wa.

Hajimemashite. Shunji Desu. Amerika-Jin Desu. ------------------------------ Wakarimashita ka?

Why you put( Shumi Wa Hon Desu)

and didn't put (shumi wa hon o yomukoto desu)

Are the two sentences the same?

Yes anoush they are the same. I made my sentence really simple so that people could get the general idea of the sentence.
