At the age of 99, I want my neck to be snapped by the thighs of an athletic 35 year old woman in the throes of passion.

Come on, none of you said "in battle"? I thought there were no girls on the internet.

I'll settle for suicide by nitrogen asphyxiation at about 70, if neither "immortality" nor "death in battle" are options for me (probably, since I have a medical condition disqualifying me from military service).

I'm going to be honest here. Starting a thread like this looks a lot like you're making a public suicide note. I don't think it is, since you started a thread very much like this like this less than a year ago ( /forumtopic-949243/how-do-you-plan-to-die ), but in that one you provided a little more context making it clear it wasn't a request for help or an emergency situation.

That said, I think people have a right to make a choice to die, but I also think it's a decision not to made without a lot of thought, including reaching out to others for comfort and to get other perspectives.

Many people will find the question you ask to be morbid and inappropriate, but I'm going to leave it for now. However, starting this thread in this way, without more context, is pretty insensitive on your part, as you must know how it will look to some others and that it will cause them distress or look like personal attention-grabbing. Please provide a bit more information in your opening post, as you did in the earlier thread of this sort (which I've just closed since this duplicates it).

Lorreen is right: suicidal ideation is one of the warning signs that someone is going to commit suicide. While it's necessary not to hide our eyes from the bad things in the world, there are bad ways to talk about suicide. At least one commenter above has said they want to kill themselves, and we have no idea whether they're joking or not. Since we have no idea who is liable to comment here, and since direct intervention is an important part of preventing suicide, being flippant about the subject is a bad idea. There are things it's impossible to say without someone needing to take direct action in response.

I think Lorreen is also right that, on the face of it, you didn't intend for this thread to be about suicide. I do think it's good to think about the fact that we are mortal (you only need the first three panels for the cool part), and how we should live as a result. So I'll answer your question slightly differently:

I want to die with the knowledge that I've accomplished everything it was necessary for me to accomplish. And also maybe this:

We are beggars: this is true.

Either quietly and painlessly after I've completed at least most of the things I wanted to do or... IN A BLAZE OF GLORY (depending on how the future is )

what that wasn't the intention im gonna die of suicide when im in my 90's i just don't like the idea of letting fate or health issues kill me off.

I didn't think it needed much context as i thought short and concise was enough but ok and ...whats wrong with asking morbid questions? maybe its just me but i have never seen the problem with morbid questions being asked i think its a part of life.

It's not so much that it's "wrong" as that such questions can make lots of people uncomfortable, especially when you pair it with suicide. We do allow morbid questions threads, but due to how uneasy they can make people feel, it's best to approach them with some sensitivity.

When you talk about suicide in such a personal manner, as you often do, it results in people having concern for your immediate welfare and calling on mods for direct action of some sort to intervene, when in reality we are pretty helpless. How do you think that makes us feel? Even in cases where people are talking about suicide in a less personal way we get reports. I, personally, think it's okay to discuss death and dying and suicide to some degree. However, I am not the only person reading such threads and when it comes to such sensitive issues I feel the person starting the thread has a responsibility to frame the issue in a way that shows consideration for those who are not at ease with such discussions.

Please add that part about " im gonna die of suicide when im in my 90's i just don't like the idea of letting fate or health issues kill me off" to your opening post.
