As far as I know, MyAnimeList makes you rate the show and all that to list it

It doesn't.

So, you can just search a title and mark how many episodes you watched or completed without having to rate it or anything else? I might just use that site then if that is the case. I just didn't want to go through and rate 300+ anime.

Yes, you can. You don't have to rate anything.

I used to be able to remember them all, then they became too many and decided to start using MAL

Lists. Seems like the only thing today's anime fans have to accomplish. And a thread actually requesting a list...
I would say there ought to be more of a reason to watch anime than to compile a meaningless list. I have utterly no idea how many I've watched and forgotten a good deal of them. The ones I remembered I try to share with others. That's all.

I have everything on MAL, but I also have my own list where I rank them from favorite to least favorite and write down my favorite character for each show.

MAL and Hummingbird (? I think that was what it's called) they're basically the same thing.

I haven't used either in a like a year or two. I've been thinking about using Notepad.

I used to jot down what I was watching in my planner since I would sometimes forget which episode of a series I had most recently watched, and skip over an episode. I also like to keep a diary of my impressions of what I was watching.

Since I became too cheap to keep buying a printed planner each year I started using MAL exclusively.

I used to update myanimelist very frequently, but I stopped doing that for about three years. I recently updated it with everything I could remember watching, but it's probably got quite a few missing at this point.

I had a Hummingbird account, and switched to it from myanimelist. Unfortunately I didn't check it for like a year, then found that the entire site got taken down. It's been redone as a new service, but all my data went away. That's why I'm having to try to remember three years worth of anime so I can go back to mal properly.

I used to keep a mental list until l tried to recommend something to a friend and couldn't remember the title, but remembered what the cover art looked like. MAL has been a great help. I've only recently started rating stuff seriously on it tho.

Used to keep my own list with ratings in a spreadsheet but moved it all to MAL. Does it have value? At times when I can't remember what was that anime from years ago I watched and have some clues...look it up on my list and I'm all good.

I am faaar too forgetful to remember everything I've watched. If I didn't have a MyAnimeList I really just would not know what to do with myself, oh my goodness. I'm so thankful for episode recaps at the start of every episode too for the same reason, haha.
