The results and proceeds of all such Assignment Materials shall be the exclusive property of Sponsor. The GP Winner must sign the work-for-hire clause to effectuate such rights, as provided in the release agreements to be executed prior to being named a winner. Sponsor shall have no obligation (express or implied) to use any Assignment Materials, or to otherwise exploit any Assignment Materials or, if commenced, to continue the distribution or exploitation thereof, and Sponsor may at any time abandon the use of the Assignment Materials for any reason, with or without legal justification or excuse, and the GP Winner shall not be entitled to any damages or other relief by reason thereof.

All prize details are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Prize winner cannot assign or transfer the prize to another person.  Cash alternative is allowed at the sole discretion of Sponsor. If a prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value may be awarded.  If winner cannot accept a prize, or any portion thereof, as stated, the prize may be forfeited at the sole discretion of Sponsor.  The value of the prize represents Sponsor’s good faith determination of the maximum retail value thereof. No refunds or credit for changes are allowed. All other expenses and costs, not expressly listed above, including, but not limited to, taxes, tips, entertainment and transfers, are winner’s sole responsibility. Grand Prize value depends on winner’s place of residence and cost and availability of airfare and hotel at time of booking and travel and may be substantially higher or lower than the stated ARV. Sponsor must approve dates of travel and book all arrangements.  Failure to travel on the dates specified by the Sponsor may result in forfeiture of the prize.  The GP Winner will be solely responsible for all federal, state and/or local taxes, as applicable, and for any other fees or costs associated with the Grand Prize they receive. The stated ARV of the Prize is based on available information provided to Sponsor and the value of the Grand Prize awarded will be reported for tax purposes as required by law. If the GP Winner is a US resident he or she must provide Sponsor with a valid social security number before the Grand Prize will be awarded for tax reporting purposes. An IRS Form 1099 will be issued in the name of a GP Winner who is a US resident for the actual value of the Grand Prize received.  Other restrictions may apply.  If prize is awarded but goes unclaimed or is forfeited by recipient, the prize may not be re-awarded, in Sponsor’ sole discretion.

GP Winner and travel companion agree that they undertake the Trip at their own risk.  GP Winner and travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary, including the same departure date, destination and return date and must have valid travel documents and permissions INCLUDING A VALID PASSPORT prior to departure. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of prize.  Travel companion must complete a travel guest liability/publicity release prior to the Trip.  GP Winner’s travel companion must be the age of majority in his or her jurisdiction of residence or GP Winner must be travel companion’s parent or legal guardian and must complete and return all releases on behalf of minor.  Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or certificates.  Once travel commences, no unscheduled stopovers are permitted; if an unscheduled stopover occurs, GP Winner will be charged full fare from stopover point for the remaining segments, including return, of the trip.  Sponsor is not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellation/delay.  All air transportation tickets are subject to the vagaries of flight variation, work stoppages and schedule or route changes. Sponsor is not responsible if GP Winner or travel companion is denied access to any aircraft or entry/re-entry into destination country or originating country. In such an event, GP Winner and/or guest will be solely responsible for any expenses incurred and the Grand Prize may be forfeited, in whole or in part. GP Winner must comply with all hotel check-in requirements including, without limitation, the presentation of a major credit card. ARV for travel prizes may vary depending upon points of departure and destination and fare fluctuations. Prize winners will not receive cash or any other form of compensation if actual travel costs are less than the prize ARV in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to structure the travel route and select hotels in its sole discretion. Trip may not be combined with any other offer and travel may not qualify for frequent flyer miles.

Trip Conduct: GP Winner and Guest shall conduct themselves with due regard to the public conventions and morals. The GP Winner and Guest shall not, while representing the Sponsor during the Trip, commit an offense involving moral turpitude under local laws or ordinances. The GP Winner and Guest shall not commit any act that will tend to degrade the Sponsor in society or bring the Sponsor into public hatred, public disrepute, contempt, scorn, or ridicule or that will tend to shock, insult or offend the community or public morals or decency or prejudice the Sponsor. In the event the GP Winner or Guest engages in behavior that (as determined by Sponsor in it’s sole discretion) is obnoxious or threatening, illegal, or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person, the Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Trip early and send the GP Winner and Guest home with no further compensation.

6. POTENTIAL WINNER NOTIFICATION: The potential GP Winner will be contacted via email and/or telephone on or about February 24, 2017. The potential GP Winner will be required to respond as directed to the notification WITHIN 24 HOURS or the Entrant may be disqualified and a new potential winner will be selected according to the scores assessed by the Judging Panel during the Judging Period, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify anyone not fully complying with the Official Rules. The Potential GP Winner will be required to verify address and complete, sign, and return within seventy-two (72) hours an affidavit of eligibility or declaration of eligibility/compliance (as applicable), a liability release, and, unless prohibited by law, a publicity release and other legal documents as may be required by Sponsor in its sole discretion (collectively, the "Prize Claim Documents") covering eligibility, liability, advertising, publicity and media appearance issues. Failure to return the Prize Claim Documents within the specified time period may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of the individual who submitted the Submission that received the next highest number of points as a new potential winner (and who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner). The GP Winner’s travel guest will be required to return a guest eligibility/liability release and, unless prohibited by law, a publicity and media release. In the event that the potential winner is a legal resident of Canada, before being declared a winner he or she must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, to be administered at a mutually convenient time by telephone. Failure to correctly answer the skill-testing questions within the time period provided will result in disqualification and selection of the individual who submitted the Submission that received the next highest number of points as a new potential winner (and who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner).

7. DATES & DEADLINES/ANTICIPATED NUMBER OF CONTESTANTS: Because of the unique nature and scope of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in addition to those other rights reserved herein, to modify any date(s) or deadline(s) set forth in these Official Rules or otherwise governing the Contest. Sponsor cannot accurately predict the number of Entrants who will participate in the Contest.

8. MATERIALS/RIGHTS IN SUBMISSIONS:  In consideration of the Submission being reviewed and evaluated for this Contest, each Entrant irrevocably grants, transfers, sells, assigns and conveys to Sponsor, their successors and assigns, all present and future full and free right, title and interest of every kind and nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and all rights incidental, subsidiary, ancillary or allied thereto (including, without limitation, all derivative rights) in and to the Submission and or any portion thereof for use and exploitation in any form, format or order alone or in conjunction with any other material for broadcast, duplication, and advertising, by means of any and all media and devices whether now known or hereafter developed or devised worldwide and in perpetuity, including to the extent applicable (a) any information, biographical data, and material (e.g., the “creative” file or Submission) submitted by Entrant in connection with the Contest; and (b) all graphics, statements, and quotations of or by Entrant and furnished by Entrant as part of this Contest, including the Assignment Materials (the “Material”). The Sponsor shall have the right, in their sole discretion, to edit, composite, morph, scan, duplicate, or alter any part of the Material for any purpose which the Sponsor deems necessary or desirable, and each Entrant irrevocably waives any and all so-called moral rights they may have therein. Each Entrant hereby acknowledges that such Entrant does not reserve any rights in or to the Material. Each Entrant agrees and acknowledges that participation in the Contest, including, without limitation, the Entrant’s decision to provide the Submission to Sponsor for purposes of the Contest, shall not give rise to any confidential, fiduciary, implied-in-fact, implied-in-law, or other special relationship between the Sponsor and Entrant, does not place the Sponsor in a position that is any different from the position held by members of the general public with regard to elements of the Entrant’s Submission, and that the only contracts, express or implied, between the Sponsor and Entrant is as set forth in these Official Rules and any release forms signed by the Entrant. In addition, by participating in the Contest and providing a Submission, each Entrant hereby grants permission (except where prohibited by law) for the Sponsor to use Entrant’s Submission, name, likeness, voice, quotes, comments, biographical information, photograph and/or image for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion without further notice, compensation or consideration in any and all media now known or hereafter developed throughout the universe.

If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these Official Rules and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Headings and captions are used in these Official Rules solely for convenience of reference, and shall not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of these Official Rules or any provision hereof.

Sponsor, shall have the right and sole discretion to edit, to refuse to publish or cease to publish any Submission whatsoever which it finds to be in violation of these Official Rules, does not fully comply with all of Sponsor requirements in connection with any and all legal clearance issues, or which it finds in its sole discretion to be otherwise objectionable for any reason. Sponsor also reserves the right to replace the winning Submission with the Submission of an alternate eligible Entrant in accordance with these Official Rules if such Submission and/or Entrant is withdrawn from or removed from the Contest for any reason, including without limitation, Entrant’s failure to have documents executed as directed by the Sponsor. Sponsor also reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to adjust times and dates reflected in the Description Section of the Official Rules at any time and/or to terminate the Contest for any reason in the event that there is an error, problem or cause which impacts the operation, administration or security of the Contest or the Sponsor and, in such situation, to select the winner(s) from the eligible Submissions received prior to the action taken or in such manner as deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. The Sponsor is not responsible for any materials provided by Entrants that are deemed harmful or offensive to others or for any harm incurred as a result of the Submission creation. The Sponsor make no warranties, express or implied, as to the content or the accuracy or reliability of any information or statements contained in any Submission. It says we can send in an image expressing how anime makes us feel, but it says we can't send in photos. So does this mean if I want to send in a photo of myself expressing my love for anime it won't count? Does it specifically have to be drawn?

though i understand the need to post the whole Terms and what-not, hardly anyone will bother to read the whole thing.
also, bold the following:
Each Entrant must be a Premium Plus member of the online community Crunchyroll.com. ... Any individuals who purchase a Crunchyroll Premium Plus membership after the Start Date will not be eligible for play.

tl;dr you must have a premium+ membership before CR starts accepting submissions. late premium+ users will NOT be eligible.
also, regular premium users will NOT be eligible as well.

edit: wait, why is this posted in site support / minor question and not in general..?

edit2:
Requests for the names of the winners must be received no later December 31, 2015.
what

edit3: Premium+ users from the United States are NOT eligible.

edit4: very late update: Premium and Premium Plus users are now both eligible. Users in United States are now eligible
(the problems highlighted on this post has been fixed, though i'd strongly recommend highlighting the portion about requiring a premium or premium plus subscription)

seems like United States is listed under title 2. Eligibility, but not in the description prior to title 1. Description
maybe the information was lost during copy/paste.

edit: or maybe not. but regardless, the information prior to title 1 and the information in title 2 contradict with each other in regards to eligibility for American residents.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

Each Entrant must be a Premium Plus member of the online community Crunchyroll.com. This Contest is not intended to solicit purchase of any materials required for play.

Me preeeeety sure CR is failing legal tests with this one. Because u have to pay to be PR+, it is considered gambling. Saying "it does not intend" is not legal cover; "I did not intend to kill someone by firing gun into crowd" arguement. Legal, willful negligence. If one of you wanted to legally challenge it, I'm sure the sorry 9th district of appeals may just buy ur case. CR can get away with it, because they don't expect resistance....

That's difference between FUNimation and CR contests, for ya. O, wait, it's FEARLESS OVERLORD FTW!!!

Sorry about those original inconsistencies, they have been corrected.

seems like Premium Plus requirement was changed to Premium. I'd suggest changing to
"Each entrant must be a Premium or Premium Plus member" (this is the terms of service so there should be no room for doubt)

I'm pretty sure this competition is intended for paying premium users as opposed to those using a trial, but the terms doesn't explicitly say that (unless you're letting free users with a trial to also participate, which doesn't seem very likely)

Worded that part more clearly now.

the post is still too long. consumers generally don't care about every detail regarding the competition. the only things that should be highlighted are:
who - who is eligible
how - how to participate
when - when is the deadline to submit any work
you could link the nuts and bolts in a separate post
a possible reworked post could be as follows:

*------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*

WHO can participate
legal residents with a premium or premium plus membership in the following contries:
Argentina
Australia
Bahamas
Bolivia
Canada
Chile
Colombia
Costa Rica
Denmark
Ecuador
El Salvador
Finland
France
Germany
Guatemala
Honduras
Ireland
Jamaica
Mexico
New Zealand
Nicaragua
Norway
Panama
Paraguay
Peru
South Africa
Trinidad & Tobago
United Kingdom
United States
Uruguay

HOW to participate
Submit an original video or image showing how anime makes you feel: crazy, happy, sad or any other crazy emotion(s) you feel when watching anime (it must contain original art); Submission must be in JPEG format (300K maximum).
other Restrictions apply (read more)

DEADLINE
from February 17, 2017 at 12:01 am Pacific Time (“PT”)
until February 19, 2017 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time (“PT”)

read the complete rules here

*------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*

where "read more" links to the portion about restrictions in content submission, and "here" links to a post showing the whole rule
notice that each country is listed in a separate line - i believe this makes it easier to determine if a given country is eligible or not
and of course, this is just a suggestion. i do feel it'd make the post far easier to read.

edit: in the suggested layout, possibly append a section showing the possible rewards

wait, the summary info is already in the thanks a million thread, so nevermind?

Well, we have to keep it long. Regulations regarding games of chance not involving any "skills" are complex, which is also why we cannot offer this in certain countries.

Submission must be in JPEG format (300K maximum).

What does the 300k stand for? 300,000 pixels maximum?

pretty sure they meant 300KB, as in, the image file submitted should have a file size that is at most 300kb

so can we post a picture of our face and put caption on it about how we feel, or do we have to make an artwork (e.g. deviantart) then put a caption on it?

EDIT: can anyone confirm?

Can the video be audio-only? Is there a preference on time, since like images will be looked at for maybe five minutes tops when judging, so the videos should be like a minute or two? I can talk a lot AND go on tangents, too, so this is somewhat need to know LOL.

Also, we shouldn't violate copyrights/use them, so does that bar drawing like Hatsune Miku with our emotion of choice, or briefly mentioning an anime by name in the video?
