Wireless Electricity that need not be connected to homes or businesses with a direct connection. Or people. Imagine shocking people without touching them.

How many posts have there been?

That's how many nopes I have for everyone. Sorry.

Except for the medical ones. Improved cybernetics will indeed happen, though I couldn't tell you how the prices will change. A lot of research is going into the solar panel problem, so solar panels are getting better and cheaper. I don't know if that actually means solar panels will solve our energy problems. And definitely no immortality.

But bendy screens seems like it could happen.

Some of the posts here are likely to happen in our lifetime especially ones with cybernetics and life extension

I'd have to say any kind of medical breakthrough, such as finally finding a cure for cancer. Or having an effective and safe way of preventing the spread of disease, like malaria. I know scientist are working with gene editing (CRISPR & Cas9) to sterilize mosquitoes....so it'll be interesting to see where that goes.

They are doing more than just mosquito eradication with CRISPR

Do share. What else are they doing? I imagine some scientist are toying with the idea of biological warfare.

If you could provide any links, that would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to read up on the topic.

A Gattaca-esque society. While the prejudice and discrimination of natural birth is clearly a social issue, I don't see that much wrong with genetic engineering humanity even with the so called threat of designer babies.

To be a bit more farfetched, cyborgs/full prosthetic bodies such as GITS.

There is an awesome Radiolab podcast on the subject. Very interesting stuff.

radiolab.org

This genetic manipulation can create designer babies, such as specifying eye color, height, hair color. It can create new species (pigs with wings), revive old species (mammoths).

As far as humans though, it seems it has already been outlawed here in the states. The logic being that a fetus can not choose any changes as those changes will continue with their children and the children after and so on and so forth.

They are able to target genes that cause deformations and disorders in patients and removing then rewriting the genetic code with normal genes.

It's all great research and can create enormous advances in science but it can also go terribly wrong as well.
