Sorry to bump this, but I'm currently unable to get the HTML5 player to load at all. It appears to just be buffering eternally. I don't have Flash installed on my computer, and it has been removed from my browser, so I can't use the old player without reinstalling Flash, which I would prefer not to do.

Does anyone know if there have been any updates on this?;; I haven't been able to watch anything on my laptop for a while, and setting it all up on my Wii U can be a bit of a pain.

I just tried the new html5 beta player on Chrome, it doesn't work at all. I'd love a fix soon.

I upgraded my membership just to use the new html 5 player, but it appears that its not functional. Guess time to downgrade again.

The players hasn't been working for months on Chrome. I haven't seen any changes to it during that time. I Think they've forgotten about the player.

The only browser where it works on my system is Edge. Edge sometimes has visual corruption though when using it though. Actually it looks like that's a video encoding problem (visible in Usagi Drop Episode 7 for example).

Ironically the Flash player doesn't work at all on Edge because it blocks Flash by default now and the option to unblock Flash doesn't show up.

You need to whitelist Flash for the Crunchyroll website in Edge, then click the download link to get the Flash popup and give it permission once again. It should work after that.

Ah, now I see... Never thought that clicking the "Get the latest Flash Player" would bring up that option to allow flash.

Let's say Edge is ... weird?

Well, it doesn't trigger when flash object is being added dynamically to DOM. I guess Microsoft doesn't really put that much effort in it, after all it's a zombie tech. Dead yet still waking.

Adding
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></object>
in
<div id="showmedia_video_player" style="display:block;" >
<div style="color:red; text-align:center; margin:16px 0px;">You either have Javascript turned off or an old version of Flash Player.<br/><br/> <a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" rel="nofollow">Get the latest Flash Player</a>
</div>
</div>
there somewhere would be enough to trigger the allow/block flash option. At very least grey box with "Select for Adoble Flash" would appear and clicking that would open the option to allow or block flash.

But since the HTML5 version works on Edge... Using the Flash version is kinda pointless. HTML5 is much smoother (frame pacing) and image quality vice better (chroma smoothing works). It doesn't trigger achievements though and it would be nice to have resolution lock option since the first few seconds sound and look absolutely hideous.

works OK on Edge.

does not work at all on the latest versions of chrome, firefox or ie11. there, did some testing for ya QA crunchyroll....
