Yeah, I wear anime shirts all the time and I've used the same Fullmetal Alchemist wallet for years. I also have a Fullmetal Alchemist tattoo on my shoulder and I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten and great conversations I've had because of it. So yeah, I really don't care if people find it weird.

Nice about the FMA tattoo. What is it of, if I may ask? I've been wanting to get the Flamel symbol tattooed on me where Izumi Curtis has hers for like ten years now, since I really relate to her character. I just don't like needles and pain though, lol.

It's the Flamel symbol. Yeah, Izumi's got it on her chest, which would be quite painful I'd imagine. However, I would totally go for it if you're able to. I've had mine for two years now and I love it!

Nice! And yeah, it might be painful, but it's right above her chest and I'm a big chested woman, so it probably wouldn't be that bad for me. I've been told by people who have gotten tattoos that it hurts more when it's more against the bone than a fleshy part of the body. One of these days when I have the money to I will, considering that it's the first tattoo I've ever wanted and I've been wanting it for so long.

Well, I don't currently own any real anime merch to show off, but I most certainly would expose it if I could. There's absolutely no sense in hiding who you are; if people judge you for it then are they really the kind of people you want to be interacting with? It's not like you're saying "hey look I spend hours gawking at hentai". It's just anime. There's no shame in having something you enjoy in life. Besides, as people have mentioned, it's a conversation starter. Plenty of otaku have problems socialising and yet they're afraid to let people know what they're like.

I, unfortunately, have no merchandise to show off or display.
I usually just let some character quotes or tendencies from various characters slip through in hopes the other person would recognise

Hell no, i may talk or support anime or vidor game culture on public yet the most I own a T shirt of the legend of kora, maybe on th fire I may buy the JoJo Kira killer queen tie but on now , at the time people judge you by what you wear or look not for what you do. I study law and the people on my faculty is more judgemental that anything so unless I am stablished no in the near future.
I carry my Dark Souls 3 patch on the wallet as a token of friendship but I don't know if that applies too.

Not really. I don't go out of my way to advertise my hobbies, and I feel no obligatory kinship with some "otaku culture."

I'd say my exposure goes so far as talking about shows i'm watching with people that I know are interested about it. I don't really have any anime merch except for some gunpla.

I don't have any merchandise (though I do have lots of DVDs), but I very openly tell people I find American TV boring. Anime is much deeper and more interesting.

I neglect to mention KEIJO!!!!!!!!.

I don't have any anime stuff I could use/wear anyways so I've never done that though I dunno about now that I got a new Ash Ketchum inspired hoodie. Maybe I'd use it someday. Maybe.

On manga, I never take mine out of the house for fear of something bad happening to them. Manga is pretty expensive (and the ones I like are rarely available) here and if they get dirty or something I won't be able to buy a replacement (plus most are gifts to em so they're important). Although I have on a certain occasion let some classmates borrow them but they promise that they'd take care of it (and they did).

The most I have done is bring anime and kids magazines to school so I have something to read when there's free period. I regret it horribly as some of my classmates borrowed and LOST some. They were old issues I can never get back. I still hate them for what they did to this day. Now I rarely bring stuff outside of home.

I found that rule somewhat hit or miss but I only have a partial leg sleeve. Top and sides of the foot were by far the worst areas, the shin was surprisingly relaxed and on the kneecap I could hardly feel anything at all. There were a couple of spots on the back/side of my calf that were much worse than the shin area. I personally think it has more to do with where concentrations of nerves are higher, skin closer to the bone probably doesn't help but if it's a sensitive area I'd expect more pain there. All that said if there's a tattoo you really want it's well worth it and you can use that as motivation to ignore/endure the pain. I found it overall quite manageable but everyone has different pain tolerances.

I don't collect anything, neither manga, clothing, trinkets, bags etc. I've never been one for branding myself.

I usually don't maybe once in a blue or at anime conventions.

I think some people see me as weird when I go full otaku in public

As long there's free wi-fi in public, I'll read manga off my cell phone. As for wearing anime t-shirts, yeah & I don't care what people think or say. If folks can wear their favorite sports team's gear, I don't see anything wrong wearing anime gear (t-shirts & etc).
