Kiniro Mosaic. Transfer student moving to foreign country to learn another language, slice of life so easy to transition to the real world, and just enough innocent cuteness to kill off the intended audience , FDA warning required before watching.

That show can not be adapted into live action for American audiences. It's due to a difference in culture, in that the casual audience wouldn't react to it like you do. The casual audience make up most of the potential viewers, and they will not find this show cute. They would find it weird. Anime like that doesn't translate well to the regular western audience.

Also, I'm talking about stuff like Baccano, Durarara, Gunsmith Cats, etc. Slice of life is just a waste of time and money. Especially due to the fact, that the premises are too Japanese. The things the anime girls do in slice of life shows would never be done by a regular American girl. It would just be weird.

We don't know if it's still a thing. People were worried that if HBO had passed on it, the quality of the script may have not been all that great. I read that the pilot was written by one of the writers for Sherlock and Doctor Who.

The writers for Sherlock and Doctor wrote the pilot? But that's amazing! HBO must be dumb as bricks if they let something like this slip away. This is like one of the few anime to be actually suitable for a live action series due to its extremely realistic setting.

You know what would actually make a good series?

Kamigami no Asobi

Tone down the harem format - maybe add some goddesses, or some more human students. But it has a cool concept, and it's full of hot guys. Plus, at least some of the characters will be familiar to people - the Greek gods, at least, and the Norse gods, even if only from Marvel. And if people don't know all of the gods (e.g. the Japanese ones), that's okay too, they can learn. And then maybe they could add a few more from other mythologies, too.
