Without reading the OP, I really thought this was about the term "finsta" that people use in place of "going to".

I'm going to the store, do you need anything? = I'm finsta go to the store, need anything?

I wouldn't exactly say this. I know some places that have rejected a friend for his posting habits online (memes, drunken nights on Instagram/Twitter, and posts on Facebook). He's a bit younger than I am (I'm 32 and he's 24). In his rejection emails, it specifically cited images or posts (with links). Social media is one of the first things that our HR digs through before I can even get them into the room to interview them. They call it "culture acceptance" or something like that; as if they don't fit the company's social views then they probably won't make it to the interview room.

That is why all of my social media has no reference to my name whatsoever. HR will, and has looked at my posting habits. Now on the other hand, there is someone from my High School who has a picture of me as his profile photo and is doing his best to make me look like an asshole.

Ex) Raping a girl is completely fine! They deserve it anyway. Girls are filthy as the bible says so.

I got an email from my Uncle about that one... I had to tell him it wasn't me lol.

I'd never heard of them before. I don't really use Instagram much.

Probably the same reason OP uses an alias.

I have two accounts because one is for personal usage, and one is where I post my art because my friends/old teachers want to see my art lmao. It's whatever, I guess, I dunno. I just wish Insta had a better way to manage photos because of how cluttered it is. I can't post art AND various photographs, it's just too cluttered to me. And some people I know don't bother to use DeviantArt or Tumblr any more. Which is kinda annoying. But, at least the art scene on insta is LIT, so.

Depends on how you look at it. I've turned away potential job offers for wanting to get deep and heavy into my social networking profiles just to ensure that I fit their qualifications when it comes to "cultural acceptance". I mean, granted, I do have pretty much an account on most social media sites (Facebook/Twitter/Snapchat/Instagram) - but, they're all locked down so tight that only those I know in person are added to any of them.

Yeah, it does depend on the field. Like I said, some fields simply don't care what you post (thankfully) and others are anal-retentive about it (IT is one of them, in my experience). I've done some government contracting work in the past (in Mathematics) where they had to screen your social networks before and after the contract to ensure you didn't give out any of that much-desired sEkeRtz. I was mostly okay with that as it was written in the contract offer - not as a precursor to getting an interview.

Yeah, I had an ex-girlfriend do this to me (years after we broke up). It's one of the many reasons why my social network profiles are locked down like Fort Knox. I have to approve any tagging and rarely any of it makes it to my wall. HR will always check out posting habits if they know you have any social media accounts. Once you supply the link or if they can find it readily, they'll check every so often (usually near your review time) to ensure that you've not said anything outside of their expected norms.

Never heard of them before, but they honestly sound kind of stupid? I don't even use social media (I don't have facebook, and my twitter account is dead) so I probably wouldn't understand anyway.
