We have problems on the apps too.

I admit I've been pretty lucky, and in past weeks it's mostly just meant I have to reload an extra time or two to read forums, and it's only been a matter of a short pause, or loss of access for a few minutes on Roku.

But not this week. I haven't tried every app I own, but CR totally crashed on Roku, FireTV, and AppleTV. I did have a bunch I was hoping to watch tonight, but I guess I'll just have to fit it in tomorrow.

I do have a show I'm watching on Funimation, but that plan got a little bit ruined too. Watched one episode fine, and then turns out that for the next episode the Japanese audio version is missing -- I'm seven episodes in and that makes two episodes so far where even though they are suppose to have both Japanese and English, the Japanese version seems to be missing. I think I'm feeling too cranky to try to suffer through a dub.

........Yeah right after I posted, I couldn't play in the app. I was going to edit the message to say "Okay nevermind I couldn't get the Windows 10 app to play either"

I haven't really had issues until this weekend, when it got especially bad.

Hmm. It looks like they disabled the ability to upload pics so no posting screenshots for me either.

Actually, that's a completely different and new bug.

When you upload a picture just remove the extraneous $ from the link before posting. You can go back to edit as well.

This is a problem for a while now, I have contacted support multiple times with just a generic message of " we know our service is down and we don't know why or when it will be up" with no apology or anything. This would be fine if this has not been a problem for over 6 weeks now. Crunchyroll needs to really fix their stuff soon or when my membership is done, I probably will be gone yet again. I usually do not advocate piracy but if they can't do their job then why should I be paying for a service I can't even use, I might as well torrent the shows and be done with Crunchyroll for good.

I cancelled my yearly sub as well. For weeks it's been the same. I can understand if it's now and then, but not when it's ongoing at the same time every week with no sign of improvement. No point paying for simulcast if I have to wait a day.

I agree and am just copying what was said above because I am tired of typing those same complaints every weekend.

Please acknowledge the problem and explain to your paying customers that you are going to fix it or admit you are unable to provide RELIABLE SERVICE

It'll usually be working again after a few hours until next week, then we go through this crap again. It's been about 2 months now and they still haven't said a word. They already took my money so I might as well get my shows somewhere else that works

CR, I've been a Premium member for years now, but the last few Saturday nights have been making me rethink that. It doesn't matter how many shows and manga you have in your library if the damn web servers crash every Saturday night like clockwork. I'm more concerned, however, with your lack of reaching out to your users when this does occur on things like Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. We are paying customers and it's not fair or acceptable to leave us in the dark for hours with no update or explanation.

The 5xx errors are not caused by CloudFlare. Our engineers are already working to fix those issues at peak times during the weekend, but I can't comment on the exact cause or give you a detailed status report. Sorry.


Any high school kid who's taken a basic course in Computer Science can explain to you why this is happening. In concept, it's literally no different than trying to run too many garden hoses off a single pipe. Eventually, all the hoses being turned on at the same time will cause the water pressure to slow down to a trickle, & under certain conditions, can actually cause a vacuum effect higher up the pipe & cause it to collapse in on itself, due to the negative pressure. If you are a fire fighter or know one, you know they live in constant fear of an underground water pipe collapsing, because it simultaneously stops all the water flow for you, & once the backflow pressure builds back up, the collapsed water pipe often erupts & breaks open the street, causing a flood.

That should just about explain why this is happening, without getting into the more private business or corporate related shenanigans.
