So, it's a bit more than halfway into the season and I just gotta know:

What are YOUR hidden gems of the season?

I'm gonna go with Scum's Wish due to how it deals with unhealthy psychological sensuality, plus amazon anime strike took it, so I feel its hidden a bit!

Onihei. It's really going under the radar for some reason.

I don't know how "hidden" they are, but shows that I enjoy quite a bit that I had no idea that I would are probably Saga of Tanya the Evil, Scum's Wish and Bang Dream.

Pretty much everything else I am continuing to watch were shows I was already made aware of or knew about before diving in.

I do not believe there is a gem this season. I felt all the anime I have seen were very similar in terms of enjoyability. If anything I felt certain anime did not live up to the hype more so.

My2cents.

If by "hidden" you're implying 'not on Crunchyroll' then Urara Meichrou is definitely hidden and a gem, great show.

Implication of "hidden gem" is an opinionated belief of a person's choice of anime they think is good, but not popular or talked about enough.

For me, I feel like no one is talking about Scum's Wish enough.

It's going under the radar because of Amazon's brilliant subscription plan:
$99 prime membership + $5/monthly Anime Strike subscription.

I still find it ridiculous that you have to get TWO subscription and pay $105 (or $160 for the whole year) for this anime and Scum's Wish.

To be fair, this is only a US thing. Outside of the US, we can just ride off a Prime membership. Said membership is still extortionate, but it's better than you guys have. So I'm not sure that it's going unnoticed entirely because of this.

Scum's Wish is definitely the one I'd back (if we consider it "hidden", being the 4th most popular anime on MAL... though Maid Dragon is quite low on the list and that's everywhere). As already stated, the psychological aspects are really interesting, particularly from Hana's perspective IMO. I feel like it's kinda dipped a little with the last episode, but I'm hoping that's a one-off issue.

I'd throw Demi-chan (Interview with Monster Girls) out there too, personally, looking at how the discussion on it is tailing off a little. I still think it's a really welcome, adorable piece that balances an otherwise slightly dark season quite well. Frankly, it's the one that I look forward to most of Winter 17's lot, even if I feel like Scum's Wish is a better anime in general.

Acca 13, Onihei, and Scum's Wish the 3 I'm enjoying the most. Guess I'm just getting old and can't stomach the generic shit like I used to.

I'm only watching stuff I've read the manga or heard about previously so I'm not really surprised by anything...
