I often hear people saying "the manga is ALWAYS better", but that can't be 100% true! Are there any series which you enjoyed more as an anime?

For me personally I enjoy sports anime more than sports manga, simply because I find it more enjoyable and easier to follow when the characters are actually moving around.

I just tend to like animation better (which is why I'm not reading ahead with Acca, even though I'm obsessed, especially after this last episode. If you haven't watched Acca yet, go watch it omg it's so good.)

I like FMA2003. I honestly haven't read all of the manga. I read up to...15, I think? Right after the stuff happened to Ling, and they had just recently met Olivier. I think I got right up to that version of Sloth and stopped... and I haven't seen Brotherhood, but I dropped the manga because I liked the first anime better. The manga felt like typical shonen compared to the first anime. (Reasons: Sloth, Lust, what happened to Winry's parents... yeah, a few things).

Black Butler: Book of Circus makes improvement over the manga, but Book of Murder and Book of the Atlantic are very pedestrian adaptations that just spit out the manga moment-for-moment, without doing anything interesting animation-wise. I'd advise skipping them and just reading the manga. They don't even have interesting OP/ED animation. The OP and ED animation for Book of Circus are each enough to set it above like 90% of other things.

I always thought the anime end of Yu Yu Hakusho was better than the manga version.

Uh, ya, like all of them?

Manga are generally a rough draft filled with plot holes/technicals, to which are refined in the anime. Only problem with anime is that many series are left unfinished...

Some that I forgot, but one that I got a split over is Berserk.
I think the older movies and/or anime was better even if they missed some content.

But I mostly liked them more since they didn't have elf's or a weird magical universe in it yet.
It might be something I could begin to like and maybe actually start reading the manga.

Even though like thegrandalliance said, that they often could drag a bit into weird stuff that might be jumped over in the anime and being smoother from start to finish.
But often there is things you would like from the manga.

From Claymore about the boy's progress to whats going on in Berserk and so on.

One punch man, I feel is much better as an anime. I would also say Nodame Cantabile was better as an anime as well thanks to the music. Actually, pretty much every music based manga benefits from having music.

I'd say most anime based on musical manga. For example, I'm enjoying Fuuka a lot more as an anime because I can actually hear the music, rather than in manga form, however the art is far beyond the animation, because Seo is an amazing artist.

Even though I've never read it, I would say that Attack on Titan's anime is better than the manga, because I found the story and character interactions to be rather stereotypical. Interesting setting though. What pulled me into the series was the combination of action sequences and music. Voice acting helped too. I did not like the English dub, though that might've been an issue with the voice direction rather than the voice actors.
