i was on yahoo the other day and i found an article that said that tintin had racist material in thier comics. u know what else was quite racist? the superman cartoon from the 1940's. it was also full of ww2 propoganda.

^ Both Marvel and DC have a lot of authors and story versions for each characters. They are so inconsistent nowadays; not to mention, they intentionally squeeze extra characters with extra stories that are so wishy-washy.
I mostly end up buying a Japanese manga (w/ english translation of course).

they are consistent. as a matter of fact they're very consistent. it's just that there are so many stories and different variations of certain comics that u simply just have to keep up with the stories to fully understand it. and as for that squeezing in characters thing, sometimes good comic writers and illustrators see that there's too many characters in a certain group of comics or within a comic's universe and they do things to lower the number such as killing them off or simply not using the character. and they don't always squeeze in characters. it may seem like there's too many ppl in one comic but they all have a purpose. if not then ur prolly reading some really bad comics.

I used to love Tin Tin when I was growing up. I remember going to all the nearby libraries trying to get my read as many of them as I could.

wtf? there was a cartoon?

i just read the old original dutch comics... i'm almost scared to think what disney might have done to it, there was a lot of more mature humor in there (alcohol related and what not).

good for borders, i was worried they'd have pulled the book after being called racist for selling it.

little pisses me off more than censorship in the name of political correctness and rewriting history to remove the objectionable parts.
