Whats your opinion on this everyone? i personally think it's stupid and digital goods shouldn't be taxed (netflix subs cr etc) but my opinion or the majorities doesn't matter to the government.

I understand the government wants more money, but imposing taxes on digital goods is ridiculous.

Since Steam prices would include the tax and only be separated out afterwards, the best any Australian could do is probably pretend that it's just a regular price increase on Steam...

I'm against sales taxes in general, but I don't see why digital goods should be treated any differently.

Tax for physical goods makes more sense as they are physical imo that's my view on it.

Your view is wrong. Our tax is called GST or goods and services tax. You are being provided with a streaming service which clearly falls under the purvue of the tax.

Piracy is on the rise with or without the gst. I guarantee you will barely even notice the 10% on your 12 dollar per month subscription.
